But you said a painting can't be immodest but a person can be. But most classical sculptures and Renaissance paintings were modeled with a real person. Michelangelo used live models. Those were real people's daughters and wives.

And you're pulling scripture selectively. The Song of Solomon describes a woman's breasts like clusters of fruit. It celebrates physical desire in vivid explicit detail. Paul's letter to Timothy was addressing a specific church community's problem with ostentation. Not issuing a universal dress code for all women for all time.

You said the body is a great design but that's not what it's for. I think that's exactly what it's for. Bodies are for running and lifting and swimming and dancing and making children and being seen doing all of it. A body kept out of sight is a body not being used for what it was built to do.

So here's the real disagreement. It is not whether the body is good. We both say yes to that. It is whether a political culture that wants to win the young is allowed to show living beauty. Or whether it has to put that beauty behind some version of a burkha.

You want to win through modesty. But modesty already had its turn. Purity rings. True Love Waits. Abstinence assemblies. A generation of youth pastors telling teenagers their own bodies were something to be ashamed of. That movement had money and churches and twenty years to work with. It captured nothing. Not film. Not music. Not fashion. Not a single platform anyone under thirty actually opens. The left took all of it by being louder and bolder and completely unashamed. Now look at what's happening to them. Young people are walking away from WOKE for the exact same reason they walked away from purity culture. People revolt against being told what they can't wear and can't say and can't enjoy. A burkini and limits on free speech come from the same instinct.

I want the opposite. I want this movement to be loud and bold and courageous and I want the women in it to look incredibly HOT while doing so. The women in my life feel exactly the same way. Nobody is dragging them into it. They're living it, and leading it in their own lives!

If the 'modest police' won, we should soon see only old ladies and old men on the screen or the stage, instead of young hot attractive women and men. The theaters would be empty, since the public generally do not attend them to see the same people they see in church or old people’s homes.

Do you realize how millions of American women hear this kind of lecturing? Women who work hard. Who are good to their men. Who are devoted mothers. Who also happen to look great in a swimsuit. Telling them that's ungodly doesn't honor them. It insults them.

There are good women and bad women. Decent women and less decent women. Some wear bikinis. Some don't. Whether or not they do is not the measure of their inner worth. And if they have a drink or smoke a cigarette they don't need to feel cast out of the movement for it either.

And you can relax about the nudes. Nothing on the schedule 😉 But a movement that strips away every pleasure and every expression of beauty and confidence from its people is a movement that will lose. Every time.

The right should be the side that looks alive. Strong men! Beautiful women! People who love being in their own skin and aren't afraid to show it. That's the my recruiting pitch for the Republican Party ahead, and you don't put a burkha on that.

I just refuse to be apart of a movement that asks people to be less alive.

We need more affirmation of life and less complaining. More morality! But less moralism.
