Reception and Year 1 loved their trip to Woburn Safari yesterday. They had so much fun looking at all the amazing animals. They particularly loved the drive safari where the animals walked close to the coach! @Woburn_Safari
In Art, Year 4 we have explored drawing wooden figures using a range of different sketching materials. We had to look carefully at the different parts of the figures and draw them in different positions, such as running or ballet dancing. @Cornerstonesedu
In Reception, we have loved looking at wild animals and their patterns such as tigers, giraffes, cheetahs, fish and turtles. We used charcoal to draw our favourite wild animal pattern. @Cornerstonesedu
Year 4 enjoyed our last tennis session this week. First, we had to put up the tennis nets ourselves! This was a challenge so we worked as a team and then we got to play some tennis using all the skills we've learnt this term. @Windsor_SSP
This week, Reception have enjoyed learning their number bonds to 10 using numicon and counters on a tens frame. They practised writing the calculations too... @WhiteRoseEd@NCETM
This week, KS2 enjoyed completing the 'Cartoon Yourself' scratch programming using the Learn Pads to first take photos before adding them to scratch and making our images tell each other a joke! @scratch
Year 4 enjoyed exploring electrical conductivity using the energy balls and sticks in Science. This proved how electrical currents move through the human body! We then used this understanding to help us create simple circuits using bulbs, buzzers and switches. @Cornerstonesedu
Year 2 enjoyed listening to Polka’ by Dmitri Shostakovich and free dancing to the music using ribbons and material. They incorporated different heights to their sequence as well as alternating hands and movements. @SingUpTweets
This week, Year 4 have started to think about electricity in Science. We had a great discussion about the items we use in our daily lives, that use the two sources of electricity, mains and battery. We also realised that most of the items had rechargeable batteries.
Year 4 have enjoyed weaving their very own wall hanging in Art. It took a lot of patience and time but we love the results. We couldn't wait to hang them up and share them with people at home! @Cornerstonesedu
Reception have loved talking about their mums and writing a Mother's Day card. We used celery sticks to print beautiful flowers on the front. Happy Mother's Day! #EYFS
Year 4 have continued to explore sound in the muffling sound investigation in science @Cornerstonesedu We muffled sound by covering a shaker with materials such as bubble wrap, paper and felt. We used a sound meter on the Learn Pad to measure the intensity of the sound.
Year 2 enjoyed their mindful movements session with @4Motioncic. They learnt some different poses including plank, snake and downward dog and played a game of musical mats instead of musical chairs. @Windsor_SSP
This week, Year 4 started weaving for our Art project 'Warp and Weft' @Cornerstonesedu We had to first create our loom and then carefully weave between pieces of yarn to create our piece. This was a challenge but the results look great!
This week, KS2 enjoyed recapping their understanding of algorithms. We challenged ourselves to write a set of instructions for the teacher on how to complete the head, shoulders, knees and toes song. We had to be very specific! @BarefootComp
This week during our Mindfulness session in Year 4 with Coach Fizz @Windsor_SSP we created sensory bottles. We added fine glitter for small feelings and large glitter for big feelings.
Year 2 used the book 'Actual Size' by Steve Jenkins for #NumberDay. We compared our hand to a gorilla's hand and our foot to an elephant's foot. Then we measured the different animals parts with cubes and created a graph to display our results.
