We’re here at Parliament for the launch of our report on Erasmus+, and a celebration of the announcement that we will be rejoining in 2027.

The return of Erasmus+ followed extensive engagement from constituents, educators,
and young people across the UK. Thousands of people contacted their MPs, shared personal experiences, and contributed evidence on local impact.

Erasmus+ has supported projects such as study abroad programmes, teaching exchanges, and job shadowing It is open to people of all ages and backgrounds, not only university students.

Between 2014 and 2020, more than 6,000 UK institutions took part in Erasmus+. During that period, £823 million of EU funding supported UK education and training projects. The UK needs Erasmus+ as it provides people of all ages with the experiences and skills to develop and participate in society.

Erasmus+ supports education, training, youth, culture, and sport, and it funds international study, work placements, exchanges, and professional development across Europe. Since 1987, around one million people in the UK have participated in Erasmus+, and from 2027, more than 100,000 people a year could benefit

A Deltapoll survey for The Mirror found that 86% of 18-24 year olds want to rejoin the EU. It is time for the Government to listen; young people are the future.
