Dear men, your struggles are valid and you are never alone in fighting them.
Half of all mental health conditions begin by age 14. Boys are particularly vulnerable, and yet too many of them grow up in a world that tells them to stay quiet about it.
1 in 7 adolescent boys globally is affected by mental health challenges. That is not a small number. That is sons, brothers, friends, and future fathers carrying weight they were never meant to carry alone.
The silence has to stop.
If you are struggling, please speak to someone. If you know someone who is struggling, check on them. A simple “are you okay?” can change everything.

❤️ INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PLAY 2026 🤍
Play is not a luxury.
It is a fundamental right of every child.
Today, as we celebrate the International Day of Play and football fans around the world look forward to the start of the FIFA World Cup, we are reminded that every great player, leader, innovator, and changemaker started as a child at play.
This year’s theme: “Protect Play, Protect Childhood,” is a powerful call to action. It reminds us that happy, healthy childhoods are built on opportunities to play, explore, imagine, learn, and belong. (UNICEF)https://t.co/8zH13ABRRT
Yet millions of children around the world still face barriers to play due to poverty, conflict, displacement, inequality, and lack of safe spaces. Research highlights that around 1 in 5 children aged 2–4 years do not play with their caregivers at home, while global studies show that 73% of children feel adults do not take play seriously enough. (UNICEF)https://t.co/8zH13ABRRT?
Play is far more than fun.
It helps children develop confidence, creativity, resilience, teamwork, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing. It is also one of the most powerful tools for learning and healthy development. (UNICEF)
At FACEYOUTH SCIO, we see the impact of play every day through our sports programmes, creative arts activities, mentoring, and wellbeing initiatives. Whether it is a child kicking a football for the first time, performing on stage, or building new friendships, play helps young people discover their potential.
As the world celebrates football and the spirit of competition, let us also remember the children who simply need a safe place to play.
🌍 Every child deserves a safe childhood.
⚽ Every child deserves a playground.
📚 Every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow.
❤️ Every child deserves the chance to dream and thrive.
Because when we protect play, we protect childhood.

For too long, silence has been mistaken for strength. Our young men deserve better.
Mental health does not discriminate. It affects people regardless of how strong they appear or how well they seem to cope. When young men are not given safe spaces to speak, seek support, and be heard, the effects can follow them into adulthood, shaping their relationships, careers, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
This is more than a personal struggle; it is a community responsibility.
At FACEYOUTH, we believe every young person deserves access to support, understanding, and opportunities to thrive. That includes creating spaces where young men feel safe to speak openly without fear of judgment.
If you know a young man who may be struggling, share this post. It could be the encouragement he needs to take the first step.

Something special happened on Sunday and we are still smiling about it. ❤️🤍
Young people walked into a room and left with something most adults spend years trying to find. Confidence. Creativity. A sense of who they are.
That is what FACEYOUTH x Aberdeen Fashion Art Media Academy is building, one session at a time.
To every parent who showed up, drove across town, and believed this was worth their child’s Sunday afternoon, thank you. You chose growth for your child and that matters more than you know.
To the incredible team at Fashion Art Media Academy, thank you for showing up with the same heart every single time. This partnership is special and the young people feel it.
And to the young people themselves?
Watch this space. You are just getting started.
Our next session is Sunday 14th June, 2PM to 4PM. Slots are limited so if your child has not joined yet, now is the time.
Because confidence does not build itself. But in the right room, with the right people, it absolutely can.
Tag a parent who needs to see this. 👇

IT’S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK🤍
MAY 11–17 2026:
Sometimes, the victim of domestic abuse is not who people assume.
Domestic conflict doesn’t just break relationships…It can break children silently too.
That’s why FACEYOUTH created 🎬 UNSEEN BATTLES, a powerful short film inspired by real-life experiences, exploring the hidden impact of domestic conflict on young people and the urgent need for support, safe spaces, and honest conversations.
Produced with young actors from the FACEYOUTH Skills Club in Aberdeen, alongside creative AI storytelling tools.
At FACEYOUTH, we believe:
🫂 Community matters.
🧠 Mental health support matters.
Because healing should never be taboo.
Let’s break the silence.Let’s break the stigma.Let’s remind every young person that they matter and to seek help when needed❤️

Day 1 — DONE & DUSTED!
Smiles. Teamwork. Learning. Laughter.
And most importantly, young lives being shaped in a safe, joyful space ❤️🤍The FACEYOUTH Holiday Skills Club is officially underway, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better start. The energy today reminded us why community matters and why spaces like this are so needed.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to @Naomi, @Tracey, and the entire Skills Club team for the incredible dedication behind this programme.
A very special thank you to the @fire_scot and Rescue Service and Rape Crisis for partnering with us to deliver vital fire safety training and awareness education today. These sessions equip our young people with knowledge, confidence, and life-saving awareness that extends far beyond the classroom.

“Boys must suffer to become men?” 🥲You see comments like this?👇🤷♀️ We must stop telling boys trauma makes them men.
Kicking a child’s head = potential brain injury.
Bullying → depression, aggression, suicide risk.
Bullying is not toughness. Trauma does not build men, it builds silent suffering.
OBO this is normal for boys at their age.
It's what makes them stronger and transforms them into men.
This is common in most government owned secondary schools.
So far as nobody is injured or dead, we should all let it go because it's normal for boys their age.
Moreover, none of those bullied boys are complaining
As a mother, watching this video broke my heart.
No child should be kicked in the head and told it is “normal” or necessary to become a man😪🥲🤦♀️
Trauma does not build strength. It builds silence, fear, and lifelong emotional wounds.
At FACEYOUTH, we see the mental health impact of bullying every day. Our boys deserve protection, guidance, and healthy models of masculinity not violence.
We are launching a call for safer schools and anti-bullying implementation across Nigerian schools.
@davido your voice has inspired millions of young people. We invite you to stand with us and help protect the next generation.
