Massive Public Protests Set to Take Place Across Europe to "Stop Amhara Genocide!

(April 28, 2026 – Ethio 251 Media)

A series of calls for massive demonstrations have been issued across various European cities to protest the ongoing genocide, drone strikes against the Amhara people, and the regime’s "Fake Election" drama.

Under the theme "Our silence today, their power tomorrow; Our voice today, their change tomorrow," these rallies aim to urge the international community to recognize the atrocities being committed against innocent Amharas and to take immediate action.

According to the released schedule:
• Sweden: A major protest will be held on Friday, May 1.
• Belgium (Brussels): Voices will be heard in the seat of the European Union on Monday, May 11.
• France (Paris) & United Kingdom (London): Coordinated demonstrations will take place in both capital cities on Saturday, May 16.
• Italy: The wave of protests will continue on Sunday, May 17.

Organizers, rallying under the slogan "Stand Together for Justice," have called upon Ethiopians and human rights activists living in these countries and neighboring regions to turn out in large numbers and serve as a voice for their people.

It was noted that these protests will play a crucial role in exposing the regime’s attempt to deceive the world and prolong its grip on power through a "Fake Election Box" stained with blood.
According to the coordinators, these demonstrations are strategically designed to bolster the ongoing existential struggle back home through international diplomatic pressure.

Three years ago, on April 9, #Ethiopia journalist Meskerem Abera was arrested in a sweeping crackdown on reporting about conflict in the Amhara region. She remains behind bars on terrorism charges that carry a potential death sentence.

She is due to present her defense in May.

@pressfreedom calls for Meskerem’s immediate release and for Ethiopian authorities to stop criminalizing journalism.
