Today I went climbing, and while I was up there, it struck me:
If the universe started with a big bang, is it so mysterious that there are long distance correlations (quantum entanglement)? Long ago these places were close together...
On this day in 1687, Sir Isaac Newton publishes Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), one of the most significant works in the history of science.
The Principia*states Newton's laws of motion, forming the foundation of classical mechanics; Newton's law of universal gravitation; and a derivation of Johannes Kepler's laws of planetary motion (which Kepler had first obtained empirically).
Can string theory explain why particles sometimes behave as waves? if particles are actually tiny vibrating strings, then they will have a wave-like nature - does that explain quantum interference? #philosophyofphysics
