I’m extremely disappointed in us as Nigerian youths. Extremely.
I woke up this morning to get ready for work without electricity and without water. The last time we had power in my area was Saturday morning. This is Abule Ijesha, Lagos.
I work a 9–5. I earn a substantial amount every month, and yet I’m still dealing with something as basic as the lack of electricity and water.
And meanwhile, young people on Twitter are still allowing tribal sentiments and religious affiliations to divide us in 2026.
Do you people not understand how limited you are compared to young people in developed countries? Do you not understand that if anything happens right now, the politicians who are the most privileged among us have the means to leave this country while the rest of us remain here to deal with the consequences?
Do you genuinely think the elites care about the tribal and religious divisions they use to keep us fighting each other?
Your Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources in Lagos can be online flaunting a Patek Philippe while young people are struggling with basic infrastructure. And this is just a Commissioner.
They know exactly what they’re doing. They know that as long as we’re distracted by tribe, religion, sex, politics and whatever other silly division they can exploit, we won’t look up and ask the people actually responsible for our living conditions the difficult questions.
This is disgusting.
And honestly, we should be ashamed of ourselves.
Not because we are powerless, but because we have failed woefully to recognize where our collective interests lie.
We keep fighting each other while the people benefiting from this dysfunction continue to live above the consequences of it.
We need to do better.
Just in case you don’t know, let me help you out.
Stephen was stoned to death.
Peter was crucified in Rome,
said to have been upside down.
Andrew was said to have been crucified.
James, the son of Zebedee, was executed by the sword by Herod Agrippa I.
Philip was said to have been martyred in Hierapolis.
Bartholomew was said to have been killed after being tortured.
Matthew was said to have been martyred.
Thomas was said to have been killed by spears in India.
James, the son of Alphaeus, was l said to have been killed for his faith.
Jude was said to have been martyred while preaching.
Simon the Zealot was said to have been martyred.
Matthias, who replaced Judas, was traditionally said to have been martyred.
Did you know what they all died for?
Jesus.
They died for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
And our God is not deaf, nor is He indifferent to the cries of His people.
“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.” Psalm 34:15
Stephen was being stoned, and what did he see?
“Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Acts 7:56
God heard Stephen.
But God did not stop the stones.
Why?
Because Christianity never promised us that following Christ means we will never suffer or die.
Jesus Himself said:
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” John 15
And:
“They will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. Luke 21:16–17
So when you ask, “If their God can hear them, why doesn’t He save them?”
He does hear them.
But sometimes His answer is not physical deliverance.
Sometimes He gives them the grace to endure.
Sometimes He delivers them from death.
And sometimes He delivers them through death.
Stephen didn’t lose.
Peter didn’t lose.
James didn’t lose.
Because the Christian’s ultimate victory isn’t that we never die.
It is that death cannot have the final word.
Jesus said:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25
And Scripture says:
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.” Psalm 116:15
The question isn’t whether God hears the cries of His people.
He does.
The question is whether we believe God is still God when His answer isn’t the answer we expected.
And Christianity says yes.
Because even when the believer loses his life, he has not lost Christ.
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
And at the end of it all:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4
That’s the hope of the Gospel.
@creedthedev My summary of this topic is "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men
create hard times"
We think we have it good which is the general consensus now but AI will create hard times..
It's week 2, day 1 of learning about AI with @CyberiadLabs and it gets more interesting and exciting.
Join me if you want to learn to work with AI https://t.co/v5BGI3boXF
Our first class finished week 1, and we are so proud of our learners. This week they learned what a model is and how it is created, and by now they are saying they'll check every answer a chatbot gives them from now on 💪
See you all Monday for week 2!
As a young person under 30, if you want to maximize your productivity, invest in:
1. Yourself : your health, mindset, confidence and personal growth.
2. A solid skill : learn something valuable that can make you money.
3. Better tools : get the best phone, laptop, internet and power/solar system you can reasonably afford.
4. Knowledge : read books, watch useful videos and work on your vocabulary and communication.
5. People : build genuine relationships. Your network can open doors your skills alone can’t.
6. Financial education : learn how money, investing, saving and wealth creation actually work.
7. Discipline : learn to do what needs to be done even when you don’t feel like doing it.
8. Your environment : be intentional about the people and spaces you surround yourself with.
Invest in these early and consistently.
Your life will not remain the same.
Week 1 of Introduction to AI and LLMs is over, and I passed the quiz! 🎉
In 4 days, I learned what’s actually inside an AI, who builds these models, how they’re trained, and what does inference mean.
I’ve even got one running locally
