FI Trader since Jan 2019. Sharing the latest Football index news in the media as and when they appear
#Louies & #FI community - Let's continue to stream Walls!
Do make sure you send a question to the Secretary of State regarding #FootballIndex as he will be answering a few of these questions in a video next week. Please do like the below tweet if possible also to help bring this and other FI questions to the attention of Oliver Dowden
@OliverDowden Hi Oliver, can you provide firm dates of when we can expect to hear the findings of the independent review of #FootballIndex? £120m has been stolen from a company that was licensed and regulated by the @GamRegGB - a regulator that has massively failed consumers #AskOliver
Thank you for covering the #FootballIndex scandal in great detail @ElliePittTV. The first time I've seen the scandal being covered by one of the UK's national broadcasters. The below needs to be seen and retweeted in its thousands.
The Football Index Scandal: how thousands of customers lost their life savings.
Thank you to the brave FI users who shared their experiences with me. I know it wasn’t easy to relive that time.

@SassyLT20@Charlie_Findex Hey Sterling! No major updates at the moment but if any new developments emerge we will of course let you and the rest of the #Louies know. Thanks again for all your help - all the #FootballIndex community really appreciate it!
Serious questions remain about why the Gambling Commission sat on their hands for so long & why the FCA refused to get involved.
I will continue to urge the Government to act- including in the upcoming Gambling White Paper.

To-and-fro about #FootballIndex in the House of Commons just now
- Minister Chris Philp confirms no statutory basis for compensation
- But investigation does have power for criminal investigations/prosecutions
In reply to questions from @RuthCadbury calling the firm a "scam"😱
The collapse of Football Index has seen my constituents & many others lose vast sums of money.
Today I urged Ministers to go further than the 'thin gruel' of changes announced by DCMS while also ensuring that my constituents get the justice they deserve.
Watch my Q below👇1/
⚽️ Brilliant from @RuthCadbury at DCMS questions this morning holding the government’s feet to the fire by asking them what they’re doing to safeguard people from losing money on things like the Football Index in the future, & what can be done to compensate those who lost money
A Norwich City fan left “on the verge of suicide” by the collapse of Football Index was putting thousands of pounds into the platform every month. https://t.co/8l1LGdnfzC
Today I've written to the Government over the Collapse of Football Index.
I was extremely concerned to hear from many of my constituents who've been impacted by this. Serious questions remain about the role of the Gambling Commission & the FCA. @FiGuide

Yesterday I spoke in Parliament for my constituents who have lost thousands in the collapse of the Football Index. We need to make sure that the Gambling Commission can learn the lessons of this and we need to fix the situation for those affected.
@SullivanL04@CanaryFi Hi @SullivanL04, here's a video of my question with the response from the minister. You also might find Hansard useful as my colleague @LizTwistMP also raised this issue in DCMS questions. ⤵️

I've written to the Government on behalf of the victims of the #FootballIndex scandal in Norwich South. People were misled, necessary safeguards weren't there, and the Govt needs to do more to prevent this kind of failure from ever happening again.

⚽️ Constituents in #NewportEast were among those who lost life-altering sums of money when the Football Index collapsed in March.
Customers felt wrongly assured that their long-term investments in the index were secure. I raised the issue in DCMS questions today. ⤵️
9.30am questions being asked regarding the Gambling Review and #footballindex in oral questions. Thanks to those who have written to MPs and chased for responses. This is a direct consequence of that hard work!
A former senior employee of the failed betting platform Football Index has spoken for the first time about the structural flaws which brought down the business.
