Thank you for everything, friends - the community here was remarkable while it lasted.
But Elon has destroyed this place.
So I’m out.
See you on other platforms.
@sarah277283 I hear what you’re saying but I’ve maintained a growing block list for years and have reached the tipping point with all the toxicity, scams, AI, engagement bait.
Best wishes 👋

@thepeacepoet99 I can’t imagine what a miserable person you must be to spend this life - the only one you’ll ever get - doing this!
Just know that contributing to the oppression of vulnerable people will never gain you the acceptance you so pathetically seek.
@ivy_cardinal@thepeacepoet99 That’s not what it means. But clearly you know a lot about this - by all means don’t let me get in the way of your bigotry!
Patients with functional neurological disorder have altered neural activations during cardiac interoception, highlighting the need for neurophysiological assessments of interoception in such patients. https://t.co/mW0IkLTHis
@SarahFPoetry I don’t know, considering many top people in the Trump orbit talk around rounding up and jailing / killing those that disagree with them, I think “Lana, how do your values square with that?” is a reasonable question.
Many of us grapple w this in our own social circles
@Z3R0Gravitas If you want to go hard on the specific science I’m thinking of at some point: it’s up-regulation of amygdalar circuits, which could trigger increased arousal, autonomic activity, problem sleeping, but not always feeling of stress.

@mdonnino@CollinRugg@greygnome That’s the elephant in the room on this issue.
Don’t know Mangione’s med history but the overall success rate of “surgery to fix back pain” is grim.
Interoceptive inference potentially relevant too - anxiety not always required for CNS to perpetuate pain after injury.
@the_jono_brand And if you’d like to connect w folks, there are small but vibrant FND groups + communities on most social platforms (although a bit of an exodus from X lately).
Recommend @FNDHopeUK@FNDAction as great first follows if you’re interested.
Best wishes 🙏
@the_jono_brand Hi Joni. So sorry that FND affects your life.
In case it’s helpful, Ive curated a short list of (mostly free) resources from the FND community. Hope you find something interesting here!
