The Democratic Socialists of America just unveiled a new, radical push to eliminate the Senate, and its co-Chair Gustavo Gordillo is now calling it an "undemocratic institution."
"It gives more representation to people in smaller states," Gordillo said, as @ Martha MacCallum pushed back, noting that the House of Representatives is population-based to ensure equal representation.
The DSA's platform is also calling for:
— eliminating checks and balances
— granting amnesty to all immigrants
— abolishing the War Department
— passage of a Green New Deal
— establish a wealth tax
— replacing the presidency and Supreme Court with a new executive and judiciary subordinate to and chosen by Congress
— a 32-hour work week with no reduction in pay or benefits

The Navy is standing by its Blue Angels after a dramatic low flyover at Pensacola Beach sparked backlash online and from some in the mainstream media.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth: "The flyovers will continue until morale improves."
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell: "Carry on Patriots."
Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao: "No reprimands. No firings. No problem. That's the sound of Freedom! Semper Fi and Hooyah."
The investigation tying Taco Bell's lettuce to an explosive parasite outbreak is intensifying.
There have been 1,644 people across 5 states infected with Cyclospora who reported eating at Taco Bell. The CDC says 94 people have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported.
The Washington Post reports that the potential supplier of the iceberg lettuce tied to the illnesses is Taylor Farms.
Taco Bell says it has voluntarily removed the potentially affected lettuce from select states and is removing it from its supply chain nationwide.

Social media is scratching its head after this Maine Democrat's answer to a simple question:
What qualifications do you have to serve in the U.S. Senate?
Candidate Ashley Webb answered: "I ran for office several times, didn't win... I'm a songwriter... and I write my own books."
The moment is now going viral, with conservatives mocking the response as Democrats battle to replace former nominee Graham Platner.
"Did it ever occur to you that maybe the families of his victims might suffer a little bit of anxiety?"
Sen. Josh Hawley presses former Biden DOJ pardon attorney Elizabeth Oyer over a clemency memo involving Dylann Roof, the white supremacist convicted of murdering nine Black churchgoers at Charleston's Mother Emanuel AME Church.
Hawley argues the recommendation ignores the pain still carried by victims' families, while Oyer also faces questions about clemency recommendations involving other federal death row inmates.
Roof was convicted on 33 federal charges, including hate crimes and obstruction of religious exercise resulting in death, and later pleaded guilty to nine state murder charges, receiving a federal death sentence and nine consecutive life sentences without parole.

United Airlines is reportedly allowing some passengers to change their flights for free if they don't want to land at Florida's newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
An internal memo obtained by Live And Let's Fly instructed reservation agents to offer no-cost alternatives, including nearby Fort Lauderdale or Miami, to travelers who object to flying into the airport.
The guidance even included a suggested response for agents: "I understand that you'd rather not fly to this airport anymore..."
United told FOX Business the memo was "poorly worded and not accurate."

Alameda County is moving forward with one of California's broadest reparations plans for Black residents, expanding efforts in housing, education, healthcare, economic opportunity and criminal justice.
Instead of writing checks, the Alameda County Reparations Commission's plan outlines structural overhauls, including expanding affordable housing, supporting Black economic development, increasing investments in education and healthcare and enacting criminal justice reforms.
County leaders say a newly created reparations committee will now oversee putting the plan into action.
BREAKING: U.S. forces say they have destroyed an Iranian surveillance tower used by the IRGC to monitor ships moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
Officials say the tower at Iran's Chah Bahar Shahid Kalantari Port helped the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps track commercial vessels and coordinate attacks.
They say taking it out makes it harder for the IRGC to target civilian ships and helps keep one of the world's busiest shipping lanes open and secure.
