Josh and I got to climb the Matterhorn! Quite the travel experience going to Zermatt for the day - it was raining so we never actually saw the top of the mountain. And we were in the clouds and wind for the top on our climbing day - it was actually somewhat character building. After climbing the Eiger in shorts and a sun hoodie I didn’t quite take the Matterhorn seriously enough - it would have been nice to have gloves for all the ice encrusted ropes at the top… but we tread carefully and still had a pretty good time. Just a little chilly! And less scenic than we hoped for. But very memorable.

I’m in the Dolomites for a week with my old friend Josh - our first day of climbing we intended to climb on Cime Grande but we didn’t know about the parking (or lack thereof…) and it was too crowded so we pivoted to a random 16 pitch 5.12c that we found in the guidebook. Such an amazing climbing destination when you can randomly choose some other route and it’s still a world class experience. And the scenery!!
