Sex at birth is now a mandatory data item in the NHS core information standard https://t.co/QHAaF87UWW
This is an important step forward for patient safety and care.
We wrote again late last week, setting out the steps we believe that Amnesty International UK should now take, and drawing attention to some further points that an external investigation should consider. https://t.co/PE4Cx1fVx0
Keep applying pressure - men aren't women - and sex matters in healthcare. Next week, the government will begin the work to ensure that NHS medical records accurately record sex. @ProfAliceS 1/
The fact that some parents mistreat their children in creatively horrible ways - perhaps because they truly think it's the right thing to do, given the ridiculous social narratives they've fallen for - is not a reason to run a medical trial of chemical castration of minors
Socially transitioning a child at 2.5yrs is as clear a case of Trans Munchausen by proxy as it’s possible to get
This boy has been abused by his parents, aided and abetted by clinicians
If Cass thinks the doctors who harmed him can now help him, she’s lying to herself
Two and a half. This unfortunate little boy was "socially transitioned" by his parents before he was three years old, and is now profoundly damaged, and terrified of being "outed" as the boy he is.
This is child abuse. It must stop.
I've signed the Free Speech Union's petition against the Government's draft bill to ban what are falsely called “conversion practices”.
This is a deceitful bill.
It has nothing to do with “gay conversion therapy” - which is abhorrent and already largely illegal.
The main effect of this bill would be to stop parents from parenting.
It would criminalize parents who try to persuade their teenagers to wait before taking drugs that lead to a lifelong medical pathway - for a condition that in the vast majority of cases resolves naturally.
It would criminalize all of us who will not kowtow to the zealous believers in “gender identity”.

Very much enjoying the IPSO ruling in Molly v Sunday Times.
The press should note that columnists are at liberty to call Euan a "bloke", a "lunatic", and "Mr Molly".

I see that the government conversion practices draft bill wants to criminalise “conduct causing someone to believe that they ... do not have a transgender identity”. I know for fact my book Material Girls did this for hundreds of young people, cos they told me.
“It feels like you’ve died.”
“Where is the man I married?”
“This is just wrong.”
“You’re tearing our family apart.”
“You’re not a woman.”
“You’re not my Mum.”
“Never wear those clothes around me or the kids.”
In a country where the police knock on your door for tweets, be sure that Trans Widows and Children are very vulnerable under this proposed conversion therapy bill.
The men already argue they are coercively-controlled. This is yet another mechanism for abusing their wives, partners and children.
Please engage with @transwidows and @ChildrenOfTrans I can’t speak for them, I can only try to flag harms that might slip by unconsidered.
The puberty blockers trial and the promised conversion therapy bill are both solutions looking for a problem.
The actual thing they are trying to solve is how to legitimise the idea of adult transexualism as being an in born trait which requires extreme societal accommodation.
Surreal headline, amazing that this even needed to be done.
This was never a left vs right issue but a battle for common sense. And common sense won.
One of my proudest moments in politics was intervening to stop this rubbish.
Thank you @ForWomenScot for leading the way.
As there are no longer live legal proceedings between the parties, I imagine the First Minister will now meet with @ForWomenScot as he promised on International Women’s Day 2025

There are intellectually honest - albeit extremely weak - arguments MPs could make against having provisions for single-sex facilities and services in the Equality Act. Waaah waaah it won’t work ain’t one of them.
Unqualified people with extreme gender beliefs practically run Brighton. This is a longstanding scandal, thank goodness it's finally been investigated.

Hello all. A quick update from me.
My sex screen assay is progressing well.
I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability.
I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising.
I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum.
I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science…
The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling.
If anyone wants to help me hit my final budget target, my crowdfunder is here.
.@SanMan1978 was one of the first journalists to write about this, years ago. It’s a disgrace that it’s still happening.
Sports bodies and gov ministers say they care about women’s and girls’ sport. Then act on this report by @SportSEENuk
