These goons are collaborating with the @BlrCityPolice traffic cops to run a vehicle towing scam.

The cops pick up bikes on the street, and instead of taking it to the police station, they bring it here.

And these guys then charge a hefty "parking fees". They asked me for ₹700.

The cop then backed out of the conversation, and these 3 goons stepped in. They refused to let me leave until I paid ₹700 (for 4 days of parking).

We managed to haggle it down to ₹500. I had to pay to avoid being caught in a dangerous situation.

I'll teach you what Hash Maps are:

Imagine a city, where everyone has an address.
If you want to find a person, you can get their address and go to their home.

One guys knows everyone's address, so you can just ask him and go straight there without looking around for them.

To make sure everyone has a house, some guy is in charge of giving out houses.
You go to him and he decides where you should live and gives you an address.

He also knows where he told everyone to live, so you can ask him and go straight to someone's house without looking around for them.

It doesn't matter how he decides the address
maybe it's based on the persons name?
Sometimes its mystery but we trusts him to do a good job.

Deciding their address is hashing.

Sometimes he doesn't do a good job though and two people get told to live in the same house.
That's hash collision.

When this happens the second guy has a backup plan- he'll move into another house.
Maybe it's the one next door, or maybe it's one exactly a mile away.

Everyone follows the same rule, so if you get to a house and the wrong guy is there, you can follow the same rule until you find that guy.
That's collision resolution.

But hopefully there are a lot of houses and the guy giving out addresses is good at figuring out how to spread people out.

The important thing is everyone has a place they belong, you can go straight there without looking around, and in the rare case that two people think they belong to the same place everyone knows where they'll go instead to sort out the problem.

So finding people is really fast!
You don't have to search, you just get their address ( hash) and go straight there!
