Greater Accra is trapped by geography: bordered by highlands & water bodies, with most land sloping <2Β°. Water has nowhere to go fast. Yet we keep building in waterways. Time to establish a separate institution enforcing demolition of illegal structures blocking flow.

Not from hurricanes. Not from tsunamis.
From gutters we blocked ourselves. From waterways we built on. From warnings we ignored.
The rain didn't fail us. We failed ourselves.
Government doesnβt have to own and manage hospitals at the same time.
GOG should retain ownership of public hospitals but competitively contract world-class operators to manage them under strict performance targets and hold the contractor responsible for non-performance.

A 19-year-old teenager, Nhlamulo Sambo from Giyani, Limpopo, was allegedly stabbed to death in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, during unrest reportedly linked to protests involving foreign nationals.
According to a Facebook post by his sister, Nonhlanhla, Nhlamulo was allegedly attacked after being removed from a residence and stabbed because he spoke Xitsonga.
"They killed my brother as if his life meant nothing. His only 'fault' was being Tsonga in a predominantly Xhosa community. As a family, we are deeply hurt by this inhumane act. Justice must be served, and we will not remain silent," wrote Nhlamulo.
