According to the Constitution of Kenya 2010, All sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya.
The supremacy of the public is unequivocally established. It is essential to recognize that there can never be true national interest without the presence of public interest; fundamentally, we must ask ourselves: for whom does the nation exist?
The state is created to serve and protect the public interest, reflecting a core tenet of our constitutional framework.

In this regard, it becomes clear that there is no higher value than the welfare and rights of the public.
When public interest is compromised or ignored, the essence of national interest falters. It is crucial to remain vigilant, as the state can sometimes be mobilized to pursue actions that may threaten the very existence and rights of its citizens.

As stewards of the law and guardians of the public good, we must uphold the principles enshrined in our constitution and ensure that all national policies and actions are aligned with the interests of the PUBLIC. Only by prioritizing the public interest can we truly achieve a harmonious and equitable society where both individuals and the nation as a whole can thrive.
