This Father's Day, we're thinking of every kind of dad in our fire services community.

Today we remember Hertfordshire Sub Officer Paul Mallaghan who was killed when he was hit by a vehicle as he tackled a car fire on the A1M near Stevenage in 2007. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and former colleagues on this day.

It has been 22 years since father-of-two Richard Jenkins died in an explosion at a burning wooden bingo hall in Ely, Cardiff. He was the first firefighter to enter the building after it was engulfed by flames 30-feet high. Our thoughts are with his friends and family on this day.
Today we remember Scottish firefighter Roderick MacLeod, who sadly died in a building collapse whilst fighting a fire at Aberchalder Lodge, South West of Inverness, on this day in 1981. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and former colleagues at this difficult time.
