As David Kidd and team have completed shaping, sodding and sprigging his new course at @streamsong, and as he turns it over to the agronomists to grow it all in (some preview play by the end of 2026), here are a few iPhone before-and-afters: tee shot on 15 (par 3), approach on 14 (par 5), tee shot on 12 (par 3) and from behind the 11th green (par 4).🔥🔥🔥
Although it was always in the back of his mind, Mike Keiser could’ve never imagined Bandon Dunes would host the best amateurs in the world.

Gamble Sands is a story of family, “scratching gravel,” cherries, apples, cattle, a whole lotta golf and hospitality.
Here’s the trailer to “Growing Gamble,” a series from @firepitstories, which will be dropping over the next three months as the opening of @DavidMcLayKidd’s latest, Scarecrow, is set to open Aug. 1.🔥
Back to the future! As we get set for the final round of the Western Intercollegiate at @PasatiempoGolf, greens will be a little faster and pins a little more accessible. Coverage starts today on the @golfchannel at 4:00pst.
In the meantime, @firepitstories produced a two-part docuseries on the restoration of all 18 greens through the lens of the 16th green, which can be seen at https://t.co/OV4dmkWcY8.🔥
As the world of golf goes from one MacKenzie design to another—Augusta National to @PasatiempoGolf, host of this week’s Western Intercollegiate—we’re digging into what has been done to all 18 greens through the lens of the 16th green.
Watch as Jim Urbina teams up with Justin Mandon, the agronomy crew at Pasatiempo and @EarthSculptures to restore MacKenzie’s intent, lost pin placements and sets the course and club up for a sustainable future above and below the ground.
Full story of the restoration and a two-part docuseries available at https://t.co/4bk1wWcyz4 and https://t.co/OV4dmkWcY8.🔥
When @fredcouplesgolf dusted off the driver he used to win the ‘92 @TheMasters and used it to play in the 2021 Wishbone Brawl at @goathillpark. Money raised went to North County Jr. Golf and Goat’s Jr. Caddie & Leadership Academy. Fred’s caddies that day, Ada and Annabelle Lee, went on to get scholarships from @WGAESF and are loving life at @UW.🐐

As David McLay Kidd continues to grow in Loraloma, his latest course in the Hill Country of Texas, Fire Pit Productions produced another video on how and why the Areté leadership went with Kidd.
And with two miles of the river’s edge shaping the course and a design philosophy that blends artistry with playability, Kidd explains why this could be a one-and-done for his courses in this area.

Need your help! Working on a project with @LaJethroJenkins and we need pics/videos of Bobby Anderson, legendary golf pro of Columbus Park GC in Chicago. 🙏
From Gamble Sands to Crazy Mountain Ranch, Loraloma and Pasatiempo, it has been another year of being “In the Dirt” with David McLay Kidd, Jim Urbina, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw as they continue to build out or restore golf in America. I can’t thank these clubs, architects and their crews enough for their cooperation and trust as they allow us the opportunity to follow along, document and share these stories.🔥🔥🔥
On Dec. 5th, they cut the first pin on Pasatiempo’s 16th green, recently restored by Jim Urbina, Justin Mandon and Earth Sculptures. On Dec. 19, Fire Pit Productions is hosting a Bonfire event for what was 44 two-person teams, but now we’re opening it up to 50 teams. Get a partner and get involved for one of the first rounds open to the public. For $650 per player, you get two meals, drinks, golf, a gift bag, trophies, live music and a roundtable with Urbina, Mandon and Brett Hochstein, an architect and shaper involved in the project. Sponsors include L.A.B. Golf, Dormie Workshop, Ashworth, FlagBag, Casa Maestri Tequila, Sweaty’s and Broccoli Country Club. Weather is looking good, course is mint and greens are insane. Check-in at 9am, shotgun at 11am, live music, food and drinks at 4:30, roundtable at 6:00. Go to https://t.co/0NjhnXph2U to sign up now while spaces are still available.🔥
Lots more coming on @PasatiempoGolf’s restoration of their Dr. Alister Mackenzie original greens, but for now, here’s Jim Urbina at the end of episode one, breaking down the score at halftime of the 16th green, one of the most diabolical putting surfaces in golf.
Looking forward to hosting a Bonfire event at Pasatiempo this Thursday when temperatures might get into the 70s. Course and greens are immaculate. There are only a few spots left: https://t.co/0NjhnXph2U. Meals, drinks, gift bags, golf, skins, trophies, cash, live music and a post-round fire-side conversation with Urbina, Justin Mandon and Brett Hochstein are all included.🔥
With Wishbone Brawl VII in the books, we’re looking back on the annual event with a highlight reel of the participants. All reels can be seen on the IG handle of @firepitstories. Next up, Bill Murray. The iconic actor and entertainer has been supporting John Ashworth’s efforts to revitalize a community asset for over a decade, and on Nov. 23, Murray showed up and did what Murray does best: make people laugh. He also gave hugs, posed for selfies and signed countless autographs. Murray partnered with Leta Lindley, the reigning U.S. Senior Women’s Open Champion, and the twosome came up a little short on the 4,500-yard par-65 municipal where locals can pay $35 to walk on weekends. All proceeds of the Wishbone Brawl go to North County Junior Golf and Goat’s Junior Caddie & Leadership Academy. To get involved, make a donation or bid on almost 100 items/offers, the online auction at https://t.co/2q0fjIAXiz is open until Dec. 11. As Murray says: “If it weren’t for John Ashworth, you could have an indoor soccer stadium right here!”🙏
Big day at @PasatiempoGolf today. After two years of restoring the greens, front-9 first, then the back, today they reopen all 18. Can’t wait to start sharing what we’ve been documenting throughout the process.
