Learn to code in Python! Firia Labs' team will help you Graduate from Blocks with innovative software, physical computing projects & complete curriculum.
We've got a stash of micro USB cables sitting around that Firia Labs no longer needs, and we'd love to put them to good use!
We're selling bundles at a great price — but here's the fun part: if you were a JumpStart customer, we want to give you some for free. Just cover the shipping and they're yours!
We also have a few battery packs for micro:bit users and Octopus bits — same deal!
These are perfect for classrooms still running hardware that uses micro USB or micro:bit. Why let them collect dust when they could be powering something useful?
If you know a teacher, IT department, makerspace, or anyone else who could use these, please share this post — let's make sure it gets to the right people!
Shoot us a message here or email us at [email protected] to grab yours before they're gone. First come, first served!

Can your drone do this?
Ours follows a line on the floor — no map, no GPS, just raw pixels and Python.
Then it locks onto a colored target using the same convolution that powers modern AI.
Then it runs a full neural network on board, hunts down Cody the mascot, snaps a photo, and lands itself back on the helipad.
This is what a student project looks like in CodeSpace.
Three missions. Pixels → color → neural network. 🤯

Your students' Python code. Flying a drone. Autonomously.
No remote. No pilot. The drone takes off, hunts down a target, snaps a photo, finds the helipad, and lands, all decided in real time by code they wrote.

A drone that follows a line from the air - using onboard student-written Python code! No remote control.
We just launched 3 new Machine Vision missions for CodeAIR. Python Onboard. Real flight. Student-written code. https://t.co/91SYXBACmv
As far as we know, no other educational drone does this.

Hello from Montgomery! 👋
The Firia Labs team is at the Alabama CS Summit today, and we're thrilled to be here with our home state teachers.
We love teachers, but we'll admit we're a little partial to the CS teachers. You're the ones putting Python in front of real students, and we think that's a big deal.
If you're at the Summit, come say hi. And if you can't be here, our newly rebuilt website is open for a look around. See exactly how we teach, mission by mission: https://t.co/gUSjiceVRH

What if your Python textbook came with a robot?
Happy National Robotics Week! (April 4–12) 🤖
At Firia Labs, our CodeSpace digital textbooks teach Python through hundreds of hand-crafted, scaffolded lessons. And then students prove what they've learned by putting their code in motion on real hardware.
The robot either follows the line or it doesn't. The drone either flies the pattern or it doesn't. No faking it. And that's where the real learning happens.
Our hands-on lab equipment brings the curriculum to life:
🤖 CodeBot - a wheeled robot for mastering sensors, motors, and electronic control
🚁 CodeAIR - students code autonomous drone flights and explore AI fundamentals
🎮 CodeX -a handheld device with display, sensors, and radio for physical computing projects
In a world where AI can write code, students need to understand code. CodeSpace builds that foundation! Real Python skills that make AI a powerful tool, not a crutch.

Two summer PD opportunities. One mission: getting your students coding in #Python.
We're thrilled to be part of two incredible professional development experiences this summer, and we wanted you to hear about both before spots fill up.
🤠 Texas Educators — CodeXpress Your Way to Confidence
We're partnering with @WeTeach_CS to bring hands-on Python PD to two great #TEXAS locations this summer:
📍 Angelo State University Kay Bailey Hutchison Institute, San Angelo - June
📍 Region 17 Education Service Center, Lubbock - July
Whether you're new to teaching Python or ready to level up, this is your chance to build real confidence with curriculum you can take straight back to your classroom.

🤖 Beyond the Remote: Teaching Autonomous Python Robotics
The much-anticipated Pathfinders Summer Institute hosted by @InfosysFoundationUSA is BACK! #InfyPathfinders
This year, educators will go beyond simple remote control and learn to teach students how to program truly autonomous robotics behavior, all in Python. It's project-based, it's hands-on, and it's the kind of PD that changes how your students see what's possible with code.
Learn more and apply here: https://t.co/6jKGGFvl2H
Whether you're in Texas or tuning in from anywhere in the U.S., this is going to be a summer worth showing up for. Tag a colleague who needs to see this.
Bring a little luck (and a lot of learning) to your Python time! In this beginner-friendly CodeX project, students draw clovers with simple shapes (circles + rectangles) and then use random numbers + probability to build a fun little game of chance.
Want to level it up? There are optional extensions to make it more interactive - variables, difficulty increases, and custom intro/ending screens - so students can flex both creativity and logic.
Grab the project resources here: https://t.co/dyttf6vgS4
And if you try it, come tell us how it went in the Firia Labs Code Collective (our educator community)!

We LOVE seeing students at work with our #Python learning hardware and curriculum!! 💚💚💚Please turn you sound on for this video. @MichaelSakowicz explains a bit here - hint: NO remote control Only Python code, safety code first, etc. AND, he praises his student - Awwww yeah!!!!!
Thank you for posting!!! 🎶You've only just begun🎶

Utah ➜ Columbus ➜ San Antonio ➜ Myrtle Beach… we’re everywhere this week 😅
Big thanks to everyone who’s met with the Firia Labs team at #FETC & #TCEA, and to all the #CTE educators we connected with in Utah over the weekend.
Tomorrow (Feb 10): #OETC in Columbus (exhibiting + speaking)
This week: #CTAT in San Antonio + #SCTEA in Myrtle Beach with @Bluum_EdTech
If you’re there, come find us for a #Python + physical computing demo and tell us what you need most in your classroom.
Hey @FETC attendees!
If you’re connected to #CSed#STEM#Robotics or #CTEworks, there’s a POWERHOUSE duo you need to meet at our booth.
These two aren’t just “working the booth”. They’ve spent years in the classroom, tried a lot of tools, and landed on what they truly believe is the best of what works. Now they’re bringing that experience to Firia Labs as our Education Specialists because they believe in the mission (and the results).
They’ll show you what real #Python learning looks like with our #CodeSpace curriculum + hands-on physical computing: #CodeX #CodeBot #CodeAIR, and they’ll happily talk through what fits your grade band, pathway, or program goals.
Be SURE to visit us at Booth 3035 and come chat with them! #FETC2026 #FETC
The @FiriaLabs Education Specialists will be there. This is an opportunity one would not want to pass up - to chat with both of them. Seasoned #CSed teachers who retired from the student classroom and have moved into the Teacher training "classroom". A super valuable connection to make.
Take a pic with them and tag us when you are there!
💚 The Firiambassador Program is Open! 💚
We’re now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 Firiambassador Program. Each year, this educator community grows stronger—and we’re excited to welcome the next cohort.
If you’re already using Firia Labs Python tools and enjoy sharing what works, collaborating with other CS educators, and helping shape future curriculum, this may be a great fit.
*** Apply by Dec 31, 2025
More info and directions on applying here: https://t.co/dlZhm6K7tz
Happy CS Ed Week! To all the teachers helping students see that coding is more than commands on a screen—thank you.
At Firia Labs, we believe computer science comes alive when students can touch it, build it, debug it, and make it fly. Whether it’s glowing LEDs with CodeX, driving robots with CodeBot, or exploring AI and autonomy with CodeAIR, we love seeing students light up when their code controls the real world.
Here’s to a week of curiosity, creativity, and those “Wait… I DID that!” moments we all live for. Let’s keep empowering the next generation—one #Python line at a time.
Happy coding! #CSEdweek
