Interesting that The Penguin took a character I had little interest in and kept me watching until the end through the strength of its writing. Meanwhile #Lanterns features superheroes I’ve always loved and had me switching off halfway through episode five.

Couldn’t even finish episode 5 of #Lanterns the writing is just so poor. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre do well with the crap they’re given, but after this, I think I’m checking out of the show and the DCU in general

@tjglenn_ent Nah mate. I’d be interested in hearing about black stories, it’s a given with John Stewart. But it was terribly executed, with the show simply telling the viewer who’s oppressed and who’s privileged rather than letting the story convey it naturally.
