Working towards the creation of safe, sustainable and accessible public transportation spaces for women and vulnerable groups in Africa |#SDG5, #SDG8 & #SDG11 |
No pavements. No street lights. Long roads, shared with traffic, taken alone.
Children know exactly where systems fail them. Our job is to ask, listen, and build differently.
Happy Day of the African Child. 🧡
This is Empower Her Mobility in action. Commissioned by the German Government, implemented by GIZ through the WE4D programme, and showing up company by company across Kenya's growing e-mobility sector.
Because a greener transport sector must also be a fairer one.
Throwing it back to when we sat with the ROG Inclusion Committee, opened up the conversation on Gender and Disability Awareness, and put practical audit tools in their hands.
Company by company. Committee by committee. That is how systemic change is built.
🚲 Excited to welcome https://t.co/92RB6cqBlo to the #EmpowerHerMobility project!
Following the signing of an MOU with Managing Director Maarten Fonteijn, we're partnering to advance inclusive e-mobility solutions that better serve women and persons with disabilities in Kenya.
We are looking for governments, development partners, foundations, private sector actors, academia, and civil society ready to co-create Africa's inclusive and climate-resilient transport future.
"Say her name in the boardroom. Be her mentor."

Madaraka reminds us that freedom is strengthened when everyone can move, learn, work, and live without fear.
As we celebrate Kenya's journey, we continue championing safe and inclusive spaces where women and girls can thrive and participate fully in society.
