Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors a nationwide high school arts competition to recognize artistic talent in each Congressional District. I’m proud to announce the finalists of this year’s Congressional Art Competition and celebrate the incredible talent of young artists across #LA02!

Thank you to @flyneworleans for helping recognize these outstanding students and their creativity. This year’s winning artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol, and for the first time ever, all finalists’ works will also be displayed in Concourse A at MSY. 

Congratulations to our winner, “Afro-futuristic Hairstyle” by Lauryn Landers from @NOCCA. Lauryn drew inspiration from her own hairstyles to create a powerful exploration of identity, culture, and self-expression.

🐶 MSY K-9 Krewe: The program started in 2018 with 10 handlers and dogs. Since then we’ve had over 27 volunteers and dogs in the program, totaling 2,834 hours of service.

🪖 Military Lounge: Since its opening in 2023 we have served 38,691 service men and women and had 47 volunteers donate 13,833 hours.
