Today, our members distributed fliers outside the Forbes Iconoclast summit to let management know we deserve a fair contract.
Four years into bargaining, Forbes is still proposing wages that do not keep up with inflation.
Solidarity,
Forbes Union
On Sunday, our members placed flyers around Forbes Vice Chairman Mike Perlis’s hometown. Mike has been absent from bargaining for years, despite our calls for fair wages and protections.
Management has no excuses. Forbes employees deserve a fair contract, and we will win one.
Stop stonewalling, Sherry and @forbes!!! Many in the newsroom have gone YEARS without a raise, while Sherry proposes piddly annual increase nowhere close to the inflation rate!!!
Our colleagues were back last weekend in the hometown of @Forbes CEO @SherrysPhillips to spread the news that she is a union buster who continues to deny our members a fair contract. 👎
Stop stonewalling, Sherry and @forbes!!! Many in the newsroom have gone YEARS without a raise, while Sherry proposes a 1.5% annual increase, not even close to the inflation rate!!!
Our fearless colleagues braved the snowstorm last weekend to visit the hometown of @Forbes CEO @SherrysPhillips and spread the news that she is a union buster who continues to deny our members a fair contract. 👎
At bargaining this month, the @forbes management team was in full refusal mode, coming to the table with exactly nothing when the union arrived ready to negotiate with six counters.

👇 @Forbes CEO Sherry Phillips hasn't been to a single bargaining session. Instead, she sends proxies who speak for her and this is the kind of thing that comes of it.
@forbes mgt, led by CEO Sherry Phillips and CCO @RandallLane, have proposed 1.25% annual bumps for staff, not even keeping up with inflation--when many in the newsroom go YEARS without a raise. #journalismjobs#hellno
@Forbes mgt, led by CEO Sherry Phillips and CCO @RandallLane. has proposed ridiculously cheap 1.25% annual salary bumps for staff, not even keeping up with inflation when so many in the newsroom have gone YEARS without raises. #journalismjobs
We handed out this flyer at the 2025 @Forbes Power Women’s Summit today to bring awareness to the blatant hypocrisy of this event. We want Forbes CEO Sherry Phillips to answer why this event is happening when Forbes has a well-documented history of pay inequity. #journalism

Our 2024 pay study also found a large racial pay gap, with the unit’s white members making nearly $24,000 more, on average, than their black colleagues. That kind of disparity doesn’t just happen by accident.
@Forbes has a history of pay inequity. It is beyond hypocritical of Forbes to promote itself as a champion of women while paying female staffers nearly $13K less, on avg, than male colleagues in the same roles. https://t.co/Zmp6BV7F26
