Empowering silk weavers through technology and innovation.
The 3rd Awareness Programme on Jacquard and KORVAI (Solid Border Mechanism) Technology was organised at Brahmapur today for the silk weavers of the Brahmapur Municipality area to promote the adoption of advanced weaving techniques. The programme highlighted how these technologies can improve fabric quality, enable value addition, enhance productivity, and lessen engagement of manpower requirements in the weaving process.
On this occasion, certificates were also awarded to trainees who successfully completed the training on Jacquard and KORVAI technology, encouraging them to embrace modern weaving practices for better livelihood opportunities and a stronger future for Odisha's silk sector.

Gopalpur beach town near Berhampur city is emering as a major porr-based industrial hub of Odisha. Tourism has also great potential given the beaches and Temples of Ganjam. However, lack of an Airport at Brahmapur is stifling the growth of the entire region.
