I know they dont need to be in the AS to have a boost i never claimed otherwise, but there is a difference

Korra flash on and off no more glowing a temp boost was on for a quick moemnt, for the air Spout, flying away with it down a street, going around a corner, landing, lfiting, rocks.....

Currently means if she was actively in the Avatar state in that moment as her eyes were long not flashing anymore during that moment. SO can you follow the simple task yes ...no?
