Good post. I have my own take on the subject as I have been in the business for almost 29 years. Iโve seen the ups and downs and the boom and bust periods many havenโt seen because they werent alive at the time or even born. Hell we had VHS at one point making money. The original fall started with the tube sites. Most know them as a revenue generator and/or traffic generator but in the beginning the companies content was stolen and uploaded there and available for free. Constant battle of dmca notices. Many companies went out of business and others were then swallowed up and bought. I can think of 15 off the top of my head that are gone. Thatโs a lot of companies to work for. The biggest impact was it changed how people consumed porn. It trained them to want it for free. Only a small subset pays. The business eventually adapted over time. The new issue is onlyfans. Itโs multifaceted. Great for performers originally. Now more complicated because of the sheer mass of people it brought into the industry all fighting over the same crumbs. The consumer dollar can only be split up so many ways. People that came in on this wave, some became part of the mainstream porn business creating more competition for the same dollars. Not to mention the inflation in the overall economy. Times are tight. Also canโt forget about legislation as was mentioned, visa/mastercard, and now AI. Not to be a downer but not sure how it gets better. I think live interaction is still going to be there for awhile. Having other revenue outside of the business as well would be a good plan B.
I just stopped by the West L.A. shelter with Robert Cabral to meet the beautiful dogs, speak with the hard working volunteers, and learn more about the conditions there.
So many loving dogs, just like Julia, are waiting for a home. The volunteers work so hard to walk them, nurture them, and give them the love and attention they deserve while helping them find families.
If youโre able to adopt, please visit the shelter. Meet Julia and the other beautiful dogs waiting for their chance. Your new best friend could be there waiting for you!
Julia is 3 years old and available for adoption at the West LA Shelter.
Intake number โ A2287053
The volunteers describe her as: easy to walk, very friendly, very sweet girl!
We are trying everything to get Mr Big back on his paws.
He's set off today to the big hospital where a series of tests and specialists are waiting for him.
Keep him in your thoughts. We hope to have some answers tomorrow for this gentle older dog we love so much โค๏ธ
