The future of capitalism depends on winning over hearts and minds.
Most pols just do what they think is popular. Arguing with them won’t have any impact. Moving the public will.
“We are screaming USA from sea to shining sea!” 🇺🇸 #JameisOnFOX@Jaboowins is LIVE from Seattle with the @AmericanOutlaws ahead of an ENORMOUS FIFA World Cup matchup against Australia
Genuinely the best thing that can happen to American soccer culture is to lean in to what makes us unique with our college football culture opposed to doing our version of European soccer culture
College gameday style atmospheres is a great start
Bored of people describing some of the irritating things at this World Cup (like drinks breaks or appallingly priced tickets) as “American”. They are not “America’s” decisions. They are FIFA’s decisions, exploiting their perception of the American market.
my new favorite bit in one of the group chats is when world cup games go to the second half hydration break, a bunch of dudes put up 4 fingers for the 4th quarter like it's college football
This rendition by Dan & Shay is fantastic, but credit to the sound guy who absolutely nailed this mix. It's perfect. The blend between the harmonies and the live mics in the stadium is what makes the hair on your arm stand up.
You simply cannot overestimate how much Midwesterners love and appreciate far-away visitors and want them to have the best time possible in the places they call home. People just want to share what they love.
Lawrence is a special place.
We’re all appropriately charmed by the German tourist exploring Georgia, but I met 4 separate guys in Spain who were going to be road tripping through not-super-cool America this summer between matches, and they were ALL excited
One asked me if I knew of anything fun to do in Biloxi
So I think we might have thousands of these folks around this year and it’s our patriotic duty to show them the coolest, weirdest corners of the US
NEW VIDEO: For decades, America treated soccer like a joke.
Then something changed.
For Americans under 35, soccer is as popular as the NBA, and more popular than MLB.
So how did a country that spent decades mocking soccer suddenly embrace it?
@YairSpolter@m2jr We’re not on the Microsoft stack so we didn’t look at it. That product may be perfectly fine. We chose Obsidian because the default file type is Markdown and supports local storage with sharing via cloud sync.
High-agency is contagious. You spend time around someone who just does things and suddenly your own list of "impossible" tasks starts looking suspiciously possible.
@charlcye@m2jr Right now, the context store for them is a combination of the Obsidian Vault (folder path example in image), CRM, and meeting recordings.
@m2jr Yes, we started with Github and then moved the non-engineering skills to a shared Obisidian vault. Github is doable for non-product roles, but Obsidian was more accessible.
