Juneteenth is a day to honor and celebrate the long history of struggle for Black liberation in this country, particularly the defeat of the brutal regime of chattel slavery in the American South. But to borrow a phrase from the great Black communist Harry Haywood, we all know that the shadow of the plantation still looms over the present.
Mass incarceration, police terror, economic deprivation, and attacks on the democratic rights of Black people are still widespread across the U.S. - especially so in the Black nation, also known as the Black Belt South. Just this week, the murder of Black 1-year-old Kohen Wiley by the police in Mississippi speaks to the sheer depravity of this ongoing national oppression.
We need an end to this, and it can't happen through a few reforms or tweaks here and there - we need to strike at the root of Black oppression, which means to upend monopoly capitalism through revolution. This Juneteenth, build the struggle for Black liberation and socialism!

JUSTICE FOR KOHEN WILEY! On June 14th, a Mississippi police officer shot and killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley when they fired into the car of a young mother who was alleged to have shoplifted diapers from Walmart. When people gathered to protest this heinous murder, the police responded like they always do: with tear gas and repression. But no matter how hard the ruling class tries to quell our rage, the people of this country have a duty to fight for justice for Kohen Wiley, his family, and all victims of police crimes - by any means necessary.
Protesting ICE is not a crime! Statement on Minneapolis Anti-ICE Activists Targeted with Federal Repression
This morning, June 16th, there were multiple coordinated raids on immigrant rights activists in the Twin Cities. At least 15 people have been indicted, with the U.S. Grand Jury charging “conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer,” alongside a number of other trumped-up charges.
The fact is, people here in the Twin Cities correctly and courageously stood up to Operation Metro Surge and built an outpouring of militant resistance to ICE terror. People from all walks of life were in the streets to oppose deportations and ICE agents. Now the government is cracking back. These kinds of bogus charges are part of framing community defense and activism as terrorism, and they want to intimidate and repress the immigrant rights movement by criminalizing protest.
This isn’t the first go-round with the feds retaliating against anti-ICE activists since the beginning of the year, with attempts to scare the immigrant rights movement into submission. It didn’t work before, and it wont work this time, either. This is a serious attack, and we are going to stand with these activists. We should be prepared to defend all those who are being targeted and persecuted, and to fight the charges.
Stop deportations!
Protesting ICE is not a crime!
The point of class analysis is not to judge individuals, but to understand the general revolutionary potential of large groups of people. Some petty bourgeois will take up revolution. But our broad strategy should focus on the working class.

The world doesn't need a trillionaire.
While the rest of us scrape by to afford basic necessities, Elon Musk has just been named the world's first TRILLIONAIRE. This isn't because he's a genius or a hard worker, it's the the functioning of a rotten system that needs to be replaced. Working and oppressed people of the world share a common enemy in Musk, and all the rest of the monopoly capitalists too.
If you want to take the fight to our common enemy, and bring down the system that enriches a few and keeps the rest of us in chains, join FRSO.

10 years ago today, 49 people were murdered at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL in an anti-LGBTQ mass shooting. Today, we should both remember the victims and rededicate ourselves to the struggle for LGBTQ liberation and against reactionary violence in all its forms. To every politician who wants to roll back LGBTQ rights, and to every bigot who would do our community harm, know this: we refuse to hide, and we will never go away!

🚨 BREAKING: Donald Trump has just initiated a new criminal, terroristic, all-out bombing campaign against Iran, which promises to kill untold numbers of people and destroy Iranian civil infrastructure.
The people of the whole world have a common enemy in the U.S. imperialists, and the time is now to go all out in mobilizing against them. END THE U.S. WAR ON IRAN!
Resolution of the 10th Congress of the FRSO on Palestine:
As anti-imperialists and proletarian internationalists, Freedom Road Socialist Organization supports the heroic national liberation struggle of the people of Palestine to liberate every inch of their land, to secure their rights to self-determination and Return, and to end zionist Israel’s colonization and occupation of all Arab territories.
The people of Palestine have struggled for justice and liberation for over 100 years, including 78 years since the founding of the apartheid state of Israel on May 14th, 1948. From 1947 to 1949, over 750,000 Palestinians were forced off their lands in what Palestinians call Al-Nakba (the Catastrophe), and Al-Nakba continues today, with over 72,000 killed in the ongoing Gaza genocide since October 2023.
And so, we join the people in Palestine, Palestinian refugees in exile, and the entire Palestinian diaspora worldwide in honoring the Palestinians who have been martyred over many decades of ethnic cleansing by zionist Israel’s colonization and military occupation, one of the most brutal in history.
We salute and support the righteous October 7th, 2023 rebellion of Palestinians—led by the Unified Palestinian Resistance—to liberate their lands and break out of the largest open-air prison in the world in Gaza. We condemn the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Israel, which would not have been possible without the unconditional backing of the U.S. and other Western imperialist states.
Palestine’s important role in challenging U.S. imperialism is clearer today than ever before. October 7th has created a ripple effect all across the world. The genocide exposed the myth of Western civilization, accelerated the decline of U.S. and Western hegemony, and led the entire region to open resistance against zionism and U.S. imperialism. Additionally, we recognize that Palestine has become a litmus test in U.S. domestic politics, playing a huge role in organizing and radicalizing many working-class people.
As communists in the U.S., we call for the end of all U.S. imperialist aid to criminal, racist, white supremacist, apartheid Israel, including all financial, military, diplomatic, and political support. U.S. aid to the apartheid state amounts to nearly $4 billion per year, including the almost $20 billion in additional emergency aid given to Israel since 2023.
We also support the Axis of Resistance led by Iran and popular forces in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, and recognize their international right to challenge U.S. imperialism and zionism in the region.
We support the National Program of the Palestinian people, originally developed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO): the right to self-determination; the Right to Return for all Palestinian refugees and their descendants, to the homes and land from which they were exiled in 1947-49, and again in 1967; and an end to Israeli colonization and illegal military occupation of all of historical Palestine, including the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, the 1948 Palestinian territories currently called “Israel,” the Syrian Golan Heights, and southern Lebanon.
We demand freedom for ALL Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails, especially Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Ahmad Saadat, and almost 10,000 others. We condemn, and call for the rescinding of a recently passed bill in the Israeli Knesset (parliament) that would allow the racist state to execute Palestinian political prisoners.
We also condemn Israel’s ongoing land theft in the West Bank and Jerusalem, attempts at annexation of areas within the Jerusalem municipality, and the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the Church of Holy Sepulchre, and other sites of worship.
We echo the call from progressive forces in Palestine and the Arab world for an end to official Arab government normalization with zionist Israel; for an end to U.S. and Israeli attacks against Hezbollah, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, Syria, and others; for the dismantling of the zionist, settler-colonialist state of Israel; and for the establishment of a single, democratic, secular state in all of historical Palestine (the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and 1948 Palestine), with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
We call on all the people of the U.S. to: 1) support the Palestine Liberation Movement and its righteous resistance in all its forms; 2) answer the Palestinian-led call to join the international Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement; 3) apply pressure on local and state governments to divest from apartheid Israel; 4) boycott all products, institutions, organizations, politicians, and other individuals who support, do business with, and defend the horrific crimes of Israel; and 5) target, confront, and disrupt elected representatives at every level, and pressure them to pass legislation in support of Palestine and to end ALL aid to Israel.
Finally, while we recognize the strength of the zionist lobby in the U.S., we refute the notion that Israel has compromised or controls the U.S. government. The zionist entity of Israel is a vassal state of the U.S. and an extension of its empire, acting in its service and used to attempt to crush any resistance to U.S. imperialism in the region. Colonialist Israel would not exist without the unconditional and unlimited support it receives from the U.S.
Section III. International
"... the decline of U.S. imperialism is shaping world events, unfolding as a cascade of resistance. The working class and national liberation struggles of the world grow stronger, moving us closer to our destination: revolution and socialism."

"Far from a dark cloud of reaction descending and smothering all that is progressive, the upcoming period will be one of widespread conflict. Mao once referred to the reactionary Chiang Kai-shek as the top recruiter for the Communist Party of China. Trump is ours."
