@LetsStopC9 To be fair, i have some extended family stuck there. They are Jamaican ex pats visiting their parents and the last flights out were Saturday. So some people literally couldn’t leave 3+ days ago. Not everyone staying is there to experience the storm. Wild take
@HawksGirl815 @OnTheRecordSC @iCyclone I would think it depends on the home structure. My roof is concrete so it’s not flying off. A metal or shingled roof, yeah keep the wind out. In a wood framed house, pressure would leak out but in a concrete house, it’s more like a bunker.
@OnTheRecordSC @HawksGirl815@iCyclone I’ve always wondered about this. I live in a sealed concrete house in PR and people have said their doors exploded towards during Maria. Is it best not to vent some pressure out?
@Reganslr@iCyclone I live in a concrete house myself. How does it explode? Did the windows and doors not vent out the pressure enough or something else? That sounds horrifying
@x_xJuanchox_xx@iCyclone Comparing the two, Puerto Rico has a lot more concrete homes with concrete roofs (not all but lots). Treasure beach uses a lot of zinc and metal roofs that will be blown off quickly. In general, id say the homes in PR are better prepared.
@x_xJuanchox_xx@iCyclone Josh was posted up in Palmas Del Mar right by the marina. The eye of Maria essentially hit right here (just a little south where there are few homes and access). I live in this community
@LYX0088 @iCyclone We are watching this from Puerto Rico. Our roofs are concrete with some Spanish tile that can also act as projectiles. Not sure why more roofs aren’t poured concrete. My house withstood a direct hit from Maria with min damage
@MAGA4LIFE85@iCyclone Well to be fair, just last year the south side of the island right where this is going to hit was hit with Beryl. It was a cat 4 but might not have made landfall. Lovers Leap Restaurant was completely destroyed and we had lots of family lose roofs. Jamaicans know storms
@iCyclone@PrayerIsAction How do you like that drive leaving Mandeville? Spur Tree road is crazy steep and the drivers don’t stop for anyone! Be safe; hoping my wife’s family both in Mandeville and Treasure Beach do well through this monster
@iCyclone Not just the sea but the drive down to treasure beach shows just how at risk they are for mud slides. That view at the top is breathtaking as you drive down but also scary as you think of the rain coming down. Augh, this is going to be bad once again all within 16 months or so
@JetBlue got a flight from FLL to Puerto Rico tomorrow, Sunday, at noon. What’s the protocol for dealing with Hurricanes? Will flights be landing in PR through this weekend?
@sweetjimmy75@TVAshleigh This is an interesting take but at the same time, BK just accepted life in prison with no appeal. What innocent person accepts that? Furthermore, who at his age wants to be in prison for life? Give the me the DP any day if I’m actually guilty of this.
@MichelleMaxwell Well they couldn’t tour so this was the money they lost out on from not being able to tour for 2 years. Smaller businesses did the same thing to pay their employees and owners (PPP and ERC) but they just made less so it was millions. Blame the government not the recepients -P
@Charismatq I think they are referring to Elizabeth Warren’s state bar of Texas’s registration card in which she wrote “American Indian”. She wasn’t Native American back then but that’s what she wrote. She recently said Vivek Ramaswamy, whose parents are from India, isn’t fit to govern -P
@charliekirk11 What does it mean when Trump has 50.2% but still 264 electoral votes? What does a winning Electoral College Probability mean if the predicted votes are not over 270 to actually win?
@BECommander11@patriottakes I listened to this once and it’s clear he is saying it’s hard for people from the audience to get up on the stage after the assassination attempt. Is there any other way to interpret it? Trump is already standing - P
