Harvest season is one of the most rewarding times of the year and one of the busiest. As machines hit the fields and rural roads, safety comes first.

Here are three quick safety reminders before pulling out of the shop:

‣ Roadway Visibility: Verify all hazard lights, turn signals, flashers, and SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle) emblems are clean, operational and visible on equipment and header trailers.

‣ Shut Down Before Servicing: Always perform a full key-off shutdown and wait for moving parts to stop completely before unclogging headers, checking augers or making adjustments.

‣ Grain Bin & Confined Space Precautions: Never enter a grain bin without turning the machine off completely and taking the key with you.
