This is your wakeup call.
Anthropic just took down Fable 5. It's over.
Here's the thing tho: no company or government will EVER be able to take away your local models.
There are Opus level models you can run right now on your home GPUs, and nobody can ever stop you from using them
This is only the beginning of events like this. Day 1. More government overreach will happen. This will only keep happening more and more as models get closer to AGI
Become sovereign. Buy your own compute. Before even that becomes illegal
AI subscriptions are dead
Claude Fable 5 will only be on the Anthropic subscription until June 22nd. After that, you will need to pay for usage per token
This will be the start of a much larger trend
Frontier models will no longer be included in subs
You’ll pay a fee and it will only get you access to older, much cheaper models
If you want access to that dank AI sour diesel, you’re going to need to pay for every token you use. No more subsidies
And it make sense. The subsidies were just a Ponzi scheme
For those that don’t know, when you pay $200 a month for an AI sub, you get thousands of dollars of tokens
These AI companies actively lose tremendous amounts of money because of these subscriptions. GDPs of most countries every year are lost on your $200 Claude Max sub
The investor money is running dry. IPOs are coming because of this. And with IPOs need to come profitability
The golden age of paying $200 a month and being able to code on 40 Claude Code instances and getting a usage reset every 5 minutes are about to die
The party couldn’t continue ever. You can’t just leverage the entire global economy for years and expect nothing to break. Now it’s time to pay up
Means a few things:
1. Time to be responsible when it comes to which models you use. You don’t need Fable 5 for GPT 5.5 Xhigh for everything. Build the skill of knowing when to use cheap models
2. Local LLMS/hardware will come even more in demand. I’m currently running GLM on my Mac Studio. It’s great. Is it Fable? No. But it gets the job done for free on simple tasks. Learn about local LLMs
3. This is the beginning of the wealth gap expansion. Those that can afford to spend $10,000 a month on Fable 5 will build incredible products that eat up more and more of the economy. Those that can’t afford Fable 5 will have an insane disadvantage
4. The government will need to step in eventually. There will be too much civil unrest. I hope the answer isn’t free money. That won’t do anything. I hope the answer is education/access to AI resources for ALL. Universal Basic Opportunity
5. You need to seriously reconsider where your money goes every month. If you are complaining about AI prices and in the back of your mind you know your skill set is becoming quickly irrelevant, all while spending money every month on Netflix, Xbox Live, Paramount +, drugs, DoorDash, Uber, and other things that bring nothing positive to your life, you are simply doing it wrong. AI is an investment in yourself. It’s an investment in your relevance to the global economy. You need to make sure you make that investment
The pieces on the board are quickly moving around. The rules are changing. The battlefield is shifting. If you’re not strategizing accordingly, you’re cooked.
Okay folks, this qualifies as BREAKING NEWS!
Harold “Sonny” White, the warp drive pioneer behind NASA’s EagleWorks Lab, just stepped out of stealth with Casimir Inc. to unveil MicroSPARC: the first battery free chip to harvest continuous electrical power straight from the quantum vacuum via the Casimir force.
The 5 mm × 5 mm device uses millions of custom microscale Casimir cavities fabricated on a substrate. Inside each cavity, two fixed conductive walls create a region of negative vacuum pressure (the well known Casimir effect). Stationary micropillars anchored in the middle act as antennas. Electrons from the cavity walls then quantum tunnel to the pillars because the interior is a lower energy “quieter” zone — and the probability of tunneling back is orders of magnitude lower. This one way “quantum ratchet” flow generates a measurable DC current with no external power source or moving parts.
Prototypes already fabricated at university nanofab facilities (Texas A&M AggieFab, MIT.nano) have been tested in RF-shielded, low noise chambers for weeks. The team reports outputs ranging from millivolts to volts at picoamp to microamp levels using precision electrometers and Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy. Target performance for the first commercial chip: ~1.5 V at 25 µA (≈40 µW continuous). Stacking and scaling could reach milliwatts or even watts per device.
Initial applications are ultra low power: always on IoT sensors, wearables, and medical implants. Longer term roadmap includes trickle charging phones, powering small electronics, and eventually grid independent homes or EVs. Commercialization is targeted for 2028, starting at ~$100/W before dropping toward $10/W.
White ties the work directly to his earlier theoretical paper on emergent quantization from a dynamic vacuum and sees it as a practical power source for the deep-space missions he’s long championed.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and independent scientists have so far declined public comment. But if the engineering scales as hoped, MicroSPARC would represent a genuine paradigm shift: continuous, maintenance free power drawn from the fabric of spacetime itself.
A bold leap from warp-drive theory into real hardware. Progress (and vacuum-powered chips) marches on.

I don’t know why other gurus are even arguing about #Silver’s direction with me.
I’ve been tracking the priceaction of #silver 14h a day every day since 7 years back. I know how my baby behaves. When it comes to silver, don’t bet against the Ape. As simple as that.
Copper pennies have surpassed 4¢! 300% above their face value! This only applies to pennies 1981 & older.
Nickels have surpassed 7.5¢! 50% above face value! This applies to all nickels in circulation.
You can go to a bank & get a $100 box of nickels, & its worth $150 in melt!
I've spent the past few weeks reading 100s of public data sources about AI development. I now believe that recursive self-improvement has a 60% chance of happening by the end of 2028. In other words, AI systems might soon be capable of building themselves.
My new roundtable, This Week in AI, just hit 11 episodes, and we are getting the greatest minds every week.... week after week.
If you want to go deep on AI, it's worth subscribing... thanks, @matanSF, @dsa, and @gsivulka, for a great discussion this week!

🚨 Do you understand what happened in the last 72 hours..
> the UAE quietly opened a sovereign dollar swap line with the US Treasury.. days before any cartel news broke.. nobody on Bloomberg connected the timing..
> Abu Dhabi formally announced it is leaving OPEC after 58 years.. the first major Gulf producer to walk out since the cartel was founded in 1960..
> the UAE was sitting on $93,000,000,000 of spare oil capacity it was never allowed to pump because Saudi-driven OPEC quotas kept getting in the way..
> Saudi Arabia issued a 90-word statement saying the cartel "remains strong" and never mentioned the UAE by name.. silence speaks louder..
> the trigger nobody is talking about: Iranian missiles hit UAE cities and Saudi Arabia stayed publicly silent.. Abu Dhabi remembered..
> Russia loses its only multilateral lever over oil prices at exactly the moment it is bankrolling Iran's war and bleeding petrodollars on Ukraine..
> Trump's administration has been openly courting Gulf producers one by one.. cheap oil before the midterms is now official US policy..
> Qatar walked in 2019.. Ecuador walked in 2020.. Angola walked in 2024.. UAE walked in 2026.. four major exits in seven years.. zero new members..
every single move on this list points the same direction.. Washington just dismantled the cartel that quadrupled oil prices in 1973.. and didn't fire a single shot..
all of this.. one week..
OPEC didn't collapse.. it got bought one Gulf state at a time..
if you're not following me you're finding out about this 48 hours late from someone who read my post..
it's only getting crazier from here..
some random ai thoughts:
- for code, i went from 80/20 claude/gpt to 80/20 gpt/claude in <3 months. surprised by this tbh, and interested to see where the split is at in another 3mo.
- claude still mogs gpt for non-coding agent stuff. codex feels like an engineer (which is great for coding!), whereas claude still feels like a general purpose coworker. gpt still lacks that coworker magic
- i’m pretty meh on opus 4.7. my experience hasn’t been *bad*, but it certainly hasn’t been good. sideways if anything.
- anthropic has got to figure out the compute thing. you can feel it as a user. vibes are all out of whack bc of it. my opinions above are all likely downstream of this. it’s an issue.
- anthropic labs continues to be the goat of ai product. claude design is another hit. it’s fantastic. idk why it’s not talked about more? a+
- updated claude code app is great. i finally switched out of the terminal for it. very well done.
- how are people STILL sleeping on the claude agent sdk? i feel like i’m going insane.
- gpt 5.5 is incredible. the level to which i trust it for engineering is amazing. if i could only have one model rn, it would be this one just bc of strong need for the coding use case.
- codex team is killing it. app has been the gold standard since 5.3 release (buuut i credit conductor team for the ui innovation that everyone is using now). though i could do with a little less passive aggressive shots at ant from the codex team. TARS, dial up class by 30%. it’s a long race guys haha
- i uninstalled cursor this month and am now back to vs code for my ide. composer just can’t hang with claude/gpt, and the product feels a bit all over the place. pretty stoked about the xai thing though, because their team is absolutely stacked and i’m excited to see what they might be able to do with that compute. codex and claude code are t1, cursor is t2. i would love if this deal got xai/cursor to t1 for a real trio there.
- gemini…? seems like this is 2-3 models now where the model seems like a great release and then nobody ever uses it? i’m bullish google/deepmind but weird it hasn’t translated to product use in any form. kinda disappointed still
- no open source models have hit the opus 4.5 level. was hopeful the new deepseek would get there, but nope. good oss agents will have to wait a few more months it would seem…
@JeffKirdeikis Autonomous trading systems, advertising spend optimization, content creation, homegrown openclaw replacement to fix my claude “max” token naps…. See you in 4 hours when it resets!
Been using @ashen_one's LEARNINGS.md approach for a week now. 40 entries deep. My agent reads them every session. Today it caught itself before repeating 3 mistakes I would've missed. The file is basically a immune system for AI screw-ups.
Steal his homework. It works!
