At #FutureSummit 2026, Gen Z and millennial lawmakers came together across state and party lines to discuss one of the biggest challenges facing the next generation of public servants: rising political violence and its impact on those considering or serving in elected office. 🧵
Yeah, we're ready to talk about it too, @kaylayoungforwv. 🤭 Since @netflix hasn't done it yet, we decided to take matters into our own hands—stay tuned for our #FutureSummit 2026 recap video coming soon.
This year's Future Summit may be over, but the connections we made and the perspectives we gained are sure to last.
Thank you to Future Caucus for having me as a speaker and guest, and to my wonderful colleagues both old and new for making this such an impactful meeting of political minds. Wherever we came from geographically or politically, there's no doubt that over this past week we all came together for the betterment of our states and communities.
During Future Summit, Future Caucus members @brandonguffeysc, Monique Priestley, and @RepCockley took the stage to discuss kids' online safety and AI policy.
Their bipartisan common ground caught the attention of @statesnewsroom, which reports how young state lawmakers are leading as laboratories of democracy on the toughest tech challenges.

During Future Summit, Future Caucus members @kaylayoungforwv and @RepSainz joined @kwelkernbc on @MeetThePress to discuss how the next generation of state lawmakers is reshaping American politics by choosing pragmatism over partisanship.
Great conversations happen when leaders from different states come together to share ideas, learn from one another, and focus on solutions.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Deon Tedder during the Future Caucus Summit in Washington, D.C., for a candid conversation about leadership, public service, innovation, and the issues shaping the future of our states.
While we may represent different communities, we share a common commitment to serving our constituents and finding practical solutions to the challenges ahead.
Thank you, Senator Tedder, for joining me on Off the Floor. I look forward to continuing our conversation and our work together.

Today I am honored to have been appointed as co-chair of the New York chapter of Future Caucus. I look forward to working with colleagues from across the state and across the aisle to advance bipartisan solutions that strengthen our communities and expand opportunities for all New Yorkers.
Thank you to Future Caucus for this opportunity, and I look forward to the work ahead.
Politics doesn’t have to be personal.
Today, I appreciated seeing Assemblymember AJ Beephan participate in the Disagree Better initiative. At a time when division often dominates our headlines, it’s a reminder that we can hold different viewpoints, debate passionately, and still treat one another with dignity and respect.
As elected officials, we owe it to the people we serve to focus on solving problems, not scoring political points. We won’t agree on every issue, but we should always be able to listen, learn, and lead with civility.
Strong convictions and mutual respect can exist at the same time. That’s how we build trust, strengthen democracy, and deliver better results for our communities.
New York was well represented at this year's @futurecaucus Future Summit, dedicated to bipartisan conversations with young policymakers on having the courage to build. I've learned a lot & I can't wait to bring that knowledge back to the district & Albany for a better tomorrow!
In 2020, @mackenziescott made a big bet on us: an unrestricted $2M gift. That flexibility let us dream — and from that dream, we built the Innovation Lab. 🧵
Today we're premiering our new short film with Mwendo Films: the story of the Innovation Lab, and a new generation setting a higher bar for cross-partisan problem-solving. Watch: 🎬 https://t.co/HnPhNoethD

During our two-year Innovation Fellowship, lawmakers team up with a bipartisan collaborator back home and pass real legislation. In 2025, they passed 463 bills 🎉
Different parties. Shared purpose.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Sen. Breanne Davis for Lawmakers on Lawmakers to discuss leadership, public service, and the challenges facing our communities.
I’m a Democrat. She’s a Republican. We don’t agree on everything—and that’s okay. What matters is having the courage to listen, engage respectfully, and lead with conviction.
At a time when our politics can feel more divided than ever, conversations like these remind us that we can disagree without being disagreeable, and that serving the people should always come first.
Looking forward to sharing this conversation soon.
I am honored to attend Future Caucus’ 10th annual #FutureSummit, the nation’s largest nonpartisan gathering of Gen Z and millennial state legislators. I am picking up on great legislation ideas. 💡
@futurecaucus 🇺🇸
Off the Floor returns for a special episode in Washington, D.C.!
I had the pleasure of meeting up with my colleague, Representative Jeremy Gray of Alabama, at this year’s Future Summit. Thanks to Podville Media for hosting, and we can’t wait for you all to see the episode on our channels in the coming weeks.
