GAIL Training Institute (GTI), Noida Celebrates 29th Anniversary with 2nd L&D Conclave

GAIL Training Institute (GTI), Noida, the premier Learning & Development (L&D) hub of GAIL and a leading capability-building center for the energy sector, celebrated its 29th Anniversary on 5 June 2026.

To mark the occasion, GTI organized a Learning & Development Conclave on the theme “Fueling the Future: Skills for a Volatile Transitional Energy Landscape”. this was the 2nd L&D Conclave which brought together CMD GAIL, Directors (HR), L&D Heads, and learning champions from leading Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

The event served as a platform for sharing experiences, exchanging ideas and collectively shaping a future-ready learning ecosystem for today’s and tomorrow’s energy leaders. In his welcome address Shri Ayush Gupta, Director HR GAIL briefed the audience about pioneer initiatives by GTI.

The conclave was inaugurated by Shri Deepak Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized the pivotal role of Learning & Development in aligning individual growth with organizational objectives and national aspirations. The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder, ReNew, who highlighted the urgent need for cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions and outlined the roadmap towards achieving them.

The inaugural session was also graced by distinguished leaders, including Shri K. S. Shetty, Director (HR), HPCL; Ms. Rashmi Govil, Director (HR), IOCL; Shri Manish Patil, Director (HR), ONGC; and Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.

The conclave featured several insightful sessions and deliberations, including:

Panel Discussion by Directors (HR) on the theme “Empowering Teams by Embracing the Future: Guiding Our Workforce through Positive Energy Transition, Digital Empowerment, and Organizational Development,” moderated by Dr. G. P. Rao, Chairman, GPR HR Consulting.

Fireside Chat on “Sustainable Skilling: Commitment and Leadership of the Indian Army,” featuring Maj. Gen. A. S. Chauhan, SC, SM (Retd.) in conversation with Col. Rohit Dev.

Knowledge-sharing sessions by L&D teams from leading energy and infrastructure organizations, including IOCL, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, EIL, NTPC, BHEL, NHPC, MGL, Power Grid Corporation, and GAIL, showcasing best practices and innovative approaches to workforce development.

Launch of “Inquizzitive 2.0,” a HRD initiative of GAIL aimed at fostering continuous learning and engagement.

The event concluded on a forward-looking note by Shri Praveer Kumar Agrawal, Executive Director (Training), who reaffirmed the GAIL commitment to building future-ready talent and strengthening learning excellence across the energy sector.

GAIL (India) Limited marked World Environment Day at its Corporate Office in New Delhi with enthusiastic participation from employees, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Deepak Gupta, CMD, GAIL, emphasized the urgency of collective environmental action. He said, “There are environmental challenges ahead for all of us. There is no Plan B because there is no Planet B. Earth belongs to all of us, and we need to take care of our Mother Earth. Let us ensure that the future is green. If there is no green environment, there is no future at all.”

Employees actively participated in various engagement activities organized on the occasion, reflecting GAIL’s shared commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

Much like a loving mother, trees nurture life. They selflessly provide food, shade, oxygen, and medicine to all living beings while they themselves stand in the scorching sun. They are life giving and are central to Indian virasat, culture, civilisation and traditions.

Our philosophy describes them as “Vriksha Mata” while our folklore describe them as animated, speaking and moving beings just like humans. They are a part of our lives and Bhartiyata as much as they contribute towards the climate.
On the occasion of #WorldEnvironmentDay, Lakshmi and I reaffirmed our bond with the environment, and our mothers, as we heeded PM Sh @narendramodi Ji’s clarion call to plant #Ek_Ped_Maa_Ke_Naam.

We planted a Mango sapling in the memory of my mother Sardarni Bibi Kundan Kaur Ji and an Ashoka sapling to remember my mother-in-law Smt Malati Desai Ji. Both these empowered, inspirational and educated women were not just ahead of their times, but were also bound together with their common love for nature, gardens and environment. 

Like the Rudraksh, Bel Patthar and Peepal saplings among many others we planted on similar occasions in the past, we pray that the saplings we planted today will also grow into nurturing trees that will benefit the future generations with their Matru Chhaya.

GAIL Varanasi has achieved a significant milestone by connecting its 200th Commercial PNG customer, doubling its commercial customer base in less than a year.

Today, leading establishments including TAJ Hotels, Radisson, Madin, Amayaa, OM Vilas, Rajshree Sweets, Pizzeria Vatika, Bikanerwala, McDonald’s, Banaraes Club, and institutions such as Kashi Vishwanath Anna Kshetra, Kashi Annapurna Anna Kshetra, Akshaya Patra and Apna Ghar Ashram are part of this growing clean energy network.

By switching to PNG, these establishments have collectively helped reduce dependency on nearly 7,000 LPG cylinders every month, contributing to safer operations, lower emissions and a more sustainable future for Varanasi.

Despite the challenges of navigating Varanasi’s narrow lanes, dense utility networks and bustling streets, GAIL continues to expand access to reliable and cleaner energy across the city.

Called on the Acting President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela HE @delcyrodriguezv today with the leadership of @PetroleumMin and CMDs of India’s energy sector PSUs.

India has a long standing energy partnership with Venezuela since 2008 and shares unique complimentarities with the country.

Venezuela possesses biggest proven reserves of oil in the world, while India not only possesses huge demand for energy but also has the technological expertise and manpower to refine Venezuelan crude in our refineries. Venezuela is already among the largest crude oil suppliers to India in April & May 2026, which is a reflection of the future potential. Our technical team will visit Venezuela soon to further explore this potential.

Indian companies already have existing investments in Venezuela and now look forward to building upon them, in addition to looking for newer opportunities for fruitful collaborations which will provide momentum to our quest towards energy security under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.

Yesterday we launched @HeroMotoCorp’s Splendor+ and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel motorcycles, today Wagon-R Flex joined the unprecedented journey.
These launches will provide momentum to India’s Aatmanirbhar Ethanol blending quest, which stood at a mere 1.5% in 2014, reached the milestone of 20%, and now looks beyond. This not only helps lower our energy import bill but also empowers our farmers with an additional and sustainable source of income, transforming them from the nation’s Annadatas into Urjadatas as well.

If just 50% of two and four wheelers sales in India shift to Flex fuel:
🌿 311.8 crore litres of additional ethanol demand
 🌿 ₹12,403 crore additional income for farmers
 🌿 ₹1,672.3 crore saving in foreign exchange
 🌿 66.4 lakh metric tonnes less CO₂ emissions
With the technologies and fuels being developed within the country, it gives a push to the quest of भारत के वाहन, भारत का ईंधन!

Even if flex-fuel vehicles account for just 1% of annual petrol vehicle sales in India they will generate a demand for 4 crore litres of ethanol in which payments of about ₹266 crore will be made to distilleries and save us ₹195 crore in foreign exchange (Nearly ₹160 crore of which will flow directly to our Urjadatas). 
Global experience, including Brazil’s successful adoption of higher ethanol blends which I had the opportunity of witnessing during my posting to Brasilia between 2006-2008, demonstrates that flex-fuel mobility is proven, scalable and reliable.

India has one of the world’s largest two-wheeler ecosystems with an active two-wheeler fleet of over 300 million vehicles. The flex-fuel technology has the potential to transform mobility at an unprecedented scale.
Today’s historic launch is a defining moment in India’s mobility and ethanol blending quest which was at just 1.5% in 2014 and has now achieved 20% blending, even as we look beyond. It will help reduce our energy imports bill and continue to provide an additional source of income to our farmers who have become Urjadatas from only being the country’s Annadatas.
