Your anger literally harms your body.
Research shows just a single minute of intense anger can trigger a dramatic drop in your immune system's strength that lasts for hours, leaving you highly vulnerable to illness.
When anger spikes, the body’s fight-or-flight response goes into overdrive, triggering a cascade of stress hormones that directly compromise physical health. Scientific research reveals a staggering connection between brief emotional outbursts and immune function, showing that even a momentary lapse in temper can suppress protective antibodies like Immunoglobulin A for several hours. This sudden drop in immunological defense leaves the body highly susceptible to common viruses and pathogens, transforming what feels like a temporary emotional reaction into a prolonged physical vulnerability.
The damage is not limited to the immune system; chronic stress and unmanaged anger also inflict severe wear and tear on the cardiovascular system. Frequent bouts of hostility keep cortisol and adrenaline levels elevated, which promotes systemic inflammation and hinders the body's ability to heal. Over time, these biochemical shifts damage blood vessels, accelerate the buildup of arterial plaque, and significantly elevate the risk of heart disease, proving that mental well-being is a core pillar of physical health.

When I ask people: "Are you a success?"
Inevitably, they are stopped.
Last night, a woman said: "It depends on how you define it."
So true.
You have to find your own way to success.

ROLL ON, but enhanced: Steroids. Vegas. Bryan Johnson commentating under a giant UV umbrella. It was hard to look away. In this one Adam Skolnick helps me make sense of the Enhanced Games. Go listen.

The greatest test of transformational leadership isn’t what you do when everyone believes in the vision.
It’s what you do when you’re the only one walking toward it.
Every transformational leader faces seasons of solitude where character is refined, conviction is strengthened, and courage is forged.
Challenge: This week, take one bold action toward your vision that doesn’t require anyone else’s permission, approval, or applause.
Transformation begins when you move first. What action will you take?
I have been in so many start-ups in my career and if I had to pick just one word that makes the biggesst difference, it would be FOCUS.
Possibilities and opportunities are endless.

Lifestyle Medicine interventions have different intensities. There's the intensity of the actual intervention+there's the intensity of the response. The first is more provider dependent and the other is patient dependent. We strive for impact by meeting patients where they are.
Today's Friday, 6-5-2026! It's a great day to connect with another person. Perhaps call a friend, a family member, or a colleague and go for a coffee, a walk, or enjoy lunch together. Spend time asking questions, listening+sharing. 😊🙏❤️#FridayFeeling#fridaymorning#life
Maybe it's because I taught grad school for 17 years, but I look at all of life as a university. Every experience is a classroom. No matter what happens, I ask myself: "What can I learn from this?"
A growth mindset helps us to learn and grow
from any mishaps. There will be mishaps
on our journeys in life. It is our choice
to decide to use them as stepping
stones to a productive path
forward or not. With a
growth mindset, we
can reach higher
ground.

A friend of mine said that he has begun to live each day in a pre-diagnosis mindest. All of us, at this very moment, could be one test away from discovering a deadly disease. This mindset helps him celebrate the moment he is in.

In my inquiry into the word "success," what I've
discovered is that we use the wrong measuring stick. When I ask people if they are a success, they immediately talk about being a successful mother or father or neighbor or friend. Never fame or fortune.

So true, Susanna. I was a solo consultant for 10 years and I had bills to pay. I wanted to do ideation, but if a client needed a marketing plan or an SEO campaign, I did it.
One of the worst parts of being at the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey:
Feeling the need to take on clients that give you bad vibes.
Because being able to follow your gut feeling is a luxury you cannot value enough.
Happy Thursday, Beth.
I am doing a deep dive on the word "success."
I have interviewed over 30 people so far. My initial conclusion: we are using the wrong scorecard.

Treating yourself like a product helps you look at yourself more objectively. What are your strengths? Weaknesses? What's your value proposition?
