Our #LandSystems team was honoured to welcome the UK Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, to Merthyr Tydfil.
The visit highlighted the strategic importance of a strong, sovereign UK land industrial base — connecting the British Army with the people, skills and manufacturing capability needed to deliver and sustain operational advantage.
For more than 60 years, General Dynamics has partnered with UK Defence. Today, our South Wales operations bring together advanced engineering, manufacturing, and through-life support, backed by a nationwide supply chain.
At Merthyr Tydfil, the CDS alongside Lt General Anna-Lee Reilly saw that capability first-hand and met some of the apprentices, graduates and veterans building the next generation of UK defence skills.
Investing in sovereign capability, skilled people, and enduring British Army–industry partnership strengthens both national resilience and the UK’s ability to support its allies.
The future of electronics starts at @electronicaFair 2026, and we'll be there.
Our #MissionSystems supply chain team will be exploring emerging technologies and engaging in conversations shaping the future of electronics. With a focus on a more connected digital battlespace and crewed and uncrewed vehicle capabilities, we're looking forward to discovering innovations that could support our avionics and battlefield communications programmes.

Incredible agility delivers results within short timelines.
At @BritishArmy-led #ExerciseACCELERATOR 2.0, our #MissionSystems and #LandSystems teams demonstrated rapid integration and interoperability as part of @NATO's Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative (EFDI).
Within two days, we connected Bowman with the EFDI data backbone, integrating the AJAX suite of sensors through its electronic architecture and into the network, enabling situational awareness and targeting data to flow between otherwise separate systems.

Our #LandSystems team is pleased to announce that the UK Ministry of Defence has awarded GDLS-UK a contract for the Foxhound Technical Demonstrator Platform (TDP) programme.
The TDP is helping to explore potential future upgrade options for Foxhound, a combat-proven capability for the British Army.
Since entering service in 2012, Foxhound has built a strong reputation for delivering protected mobility in demanding operational environments. Today, with 52 upgraded Command & Control Variant (C2V) vehicles in service and the TDP programme underway, the platform continues to evolve to meet future operational requirements.
This investment reflects continued confidence in Foxhound’s future and supports the UK’s sovereign defence skills, manufacturing expertise and protected mobility capability. Through the TDP programme, activity will explore potential improvements to the platform while helping to sustain specialist engineering knowledge in the UK.
A proven platform. Built on experience. Designed for tomorrow.
Our #LandSystems team is pleased to announce a collaboration with ARX Robotics UK to explore future crewed-uncrewed teaming capabilities for the British Army.
The collaboration will explore how the Ajax family of vehicles could integrate with autonomous "wingman" systems, supporting reconnaissance, surveillance, protection, and combat missions. The digital architecture on Ajax gives the British Army the capability to rapidly integrate uncrewed systems into the brigade combat teams.
Beyond capability development, we're also exploring how UK manufacturing, skills and supply chains can support the production and sustainment of future autonomous land systems at scale.
This collaboration reflects our commitment to innovation, sovereign capability and supporting the future needs of the British Army.
