New publication: The Phase II.A results of GERG's 'Technology Benchmark for site level #methaneemissions quantification'
📢 Findings: Three of the nine technologies achieved average errors of less than 50%, requiring the use of a helicopter or truck.
The initiative aims at increasing the knowledge on the reconciliation process, a key step to improve accuracy of methane emissions estimations in the gas sector

The team will investigate issues related to the increase in #flow or gas #velocity to compensate for the lower energy value per cubic meter. A public version of the report will be available on the GERG website at the end of the project.
🤝 New GERG friend: Cetim - Centre technique des industries mécaniques
💼We believe that #cooperation will be of substantial benefit to both organisations as there are strong complementarities between GERG’s priorities and the work that is being done at CETIM.
The main goal of the WP5 is to investigate ways to adapt residential or commercial appliances that have #safety or performance issues to different levels of #H2 concentrations in natural gas.

#EGATEC2022#conference#energy#research
Alongside @GERG_Eu, we are thrilled to be organising the 5th EGATEC conference in Hamburg! Stakeholders, high-level representatives from the European #gasindustry & research partners are gathering to discuss the future of #gastechnology & share insights on latest developments
Thank you for your warm welcome @FluxysGroup , it was a pleasure for the GERG Secretariat and President to visit the compressor station of Zelzate alongside the coordination team (@bureauveritas and @enagas ) and representatives from the @EU_Commission
On 18 May, we were happy to welcome at our compression site in Zelzate, the European Gas Research Group @GERG_Eu and a delegation of the European Commission to test and assess top-down methodologies for the quantification of #methane emissions.
