This film is the second spin-off from the Embryom Chronicles series. While the story stands on its own, there are a few key details from the previous film, The Last Doctrine, that will help you dive deeper into the story.
In The Last Doctrine, I introduced the Mireblood: a black liquid drug smuggled by Raiders into the Hollow Haven, the slums of the capital city, Kaelith. I also revealed the Lymph: a precious substance extracted from the planet’s core (yellow colour) and refined in the Enclave laboratories (blue colour) to prolong the life of the now-dead High Vicar but at what cost?
