Giga just mapped 100% of schools in Djibouti using AI satellite imagery! 🇩🇯

What if one of the biggest barriers to connecting schools to the internet is simply not knowing where they are?

Using AI and satellite imagery, our team trains models on known school locations to identify the unique characteristics of school campuses from above, which then helps the AI predict where other schools are located across an entire country.

We're grateful to the Ministère de l'éducation nationale et de la formation professionnelle (MENFOP) for the collaboration to validate the schools and make a fully validated map for the country possible.

Often the last reinforced building standing, a school becomes a shelter. A distribution point.
