This is one of MANY reasons to not trust critic-written reviews on the entertainment industry (especially an industry that’s hated on @starwars for 49+ years). Note the critic score of the movie vs. the attendee (aka: ticket-buying public). The movie was fun, creative and great all-ages storytelling.
HEY INFOCOMM EXHIBITORS-
🎙️this message is for you: 🔥I’m going to give you some free advice – take it or leave it (the kind of advice I usually charge for as a marketing consultant)…
Do not lead with AI next month at the AVIXA #InfoComm26 show in Las Vegas. I am serious. AI has rapidly moved into the corporate jargon graveyard like many other other marketing-led terms like “Think outside the box”, “Ecosystem” and “Post-pandemic.” if you haven’t noticed that “AI” is experiencing extreme backlash from “normal” people, you might be living under the proverbial “rock” (jargon-pun-intended).
If your product uses AI, use a different term. Don’t push the term AI. If AI is in your booth signage, remove it. If you’re demonstrating something because of AI, don’t.
I am serious. This is free advice. So take it or leave it but if you’re relying on AI at the show, you will not have a good show….
Currently AI is connected to:
💜Massive Job Cuts
💜Unsustainable Spending
💜Terrible Grad Speeches
💜Big Brother Monitoring
💜Over-Emphasized Analytics
💜A Term Used to Draw Clicks
💜Too many Social Media posts
💜Job Loss Fears
Don’t believe me, ask your 20 year-old and 30 year-old colleagues and kids… but you don’t have to, eventually you’ll notice.
Have a great show and I look forward to seeing you all in Vegas!!
PS: Al can certainly generate some great f#%&ing images, haha!
Does anyone else think that some members of the press want this Andes Virus outbreak to become a pandemic? I actually feel really bad for them. The appearance of exaggerated reporting is sad.
BREAKING: The UNC System may require all instructors across its 16 constituent universities to publish their syllabi next academic year, according to a draft of a policy obtained by The Daily Tar Heel. https://t.co/elQGU7Rqqc
Smart move as the interlocking NC is more recognizable globally than the old well. The old whale has deep meaning to those of us who went to Carolina, but outside of the Carolina community it means nothing and it’s not recognizable – most popularly called a “trashcan” by people who don’t know what it is…
UNC is replacing its Old Well logo with the interlocking NC symbol — which was previously utilized for athletics only — as its primary branding.

Hey, @dthopinion: I just read Luis F Fuentes op-ed “It’s time for journalists to drop the veneer of neutrality” in the @dailytarheel today. I could not agree more!! I think where we disagree is that I believe journalists are ALREADY doing what he advocates. I would love for him to cite one journalist that is neutral, on the air today? My personal fav. is @andersoncooper. The biases of journalists used to be shrouded in the “truth.” But the good journalists of today make biases crystal clear (aka: Anderson Cooper). That way, the viewer/reader doesn’t assume their reports are, well, unbiased.

This is not a political statement, but a statement from a business owner: The @federalreserve is being naïve and, honestly, stupid. You’re hurting small businesses with these ridiculous interest rates. They need to be lowered. @SBAgov
