Another dangerous vehicle taken off our roads. 🛑
This van was stopped by #CVU weighing in at over 5 tonnes (5,120kg)—a massive 46% overweight. To make matters worse, the chassis was found to be fractured.
Vehicle prohibited 🚫 and driver reported.

Yesterday a Disqualified #Certidriver thought he could outpace two advanced motorcyclists around Rochdale. His ambition soon outweighed his talent after a 10 minute pursuit around Rochdale colliding with a central island.
Driver arrested, car seized.
Court this morning!

Well Saturday seems to be not fit for purpose recovery day. 3 stopped in the space of an hr and all overweight. One 50% on the rear axle. Another seized, as driver has no licence or insurance 🤷‍♂️ #CVU

Building materials, ladders, pipes or even a ride-on mower… if it’s going on your vehicle, make sure it’s secure!

Insecure loads can quickly become a serious hazard to other road users.

🚜 CVU officers decided to dig a little deeper… and found more than they were looking for!

This tractor was stopped in Bury, where officers found:
❌ Insecure load
❌ Defective tyre
❌ Defective lighting
❌ No rear VRM plate

Vehicle prohibited & driver prosecuted

Following numerous reports of anti-social driving around Great Lever in Bolton, this Lamborghini Huracan was seized this evening under S59.

Regent Rd Roundabout is now open again following an RTC earlier this morning. Luckily there were no passengers in this Audi as it landed on a tree pushing it through the passenger side floor. Driver arrested. #GMP # Police

#SEIZED | This vehicle was sighted by #GMPSCIU officers with no insurance. Driver swore he took insurance out but checks revealed it was only an insurance quote. Seized and reported.

After #GMPMotorcycleUnit left Stretford a report of bikes causing a nuisance in Bolton brought them to Darcy Lever.

This rider was gently persuaded off his bike which was uninsured and no plate displayed.

Just purchased, now seized. So back to auction.

#GMPMotorcycleunit spotted this fiesta weaving through traffic.

Quick stop reveled the driver told his insurer he was 15 years older than he actually was to save a few pounds.

Fraudulent policy so no insurance and more cost going forward.

Vehicle seen struggling to keep up with traffic. Checked by #CVU and weighed. Found to be 63.2% overweight even though only half loaded. Vehicle weighed 3200 empty so not fit for purpose. Prohibited, cabled until rectified.

@montysmugs Micky, vehicles above 3.5 have a tacho. This had nothing and no signs off one having been fitted, so no dont think so. Probably just added tail lift and refrigeration.

The cloned Nissan X Trail was sighted by our XB patrol in Greenmount and covertly followed to our waiting stinger. All 4 tyres deflated and a pursuit prevented. Driver was found to be wanted x 5! Male arrested and car seized #S165RTA

#CVU officers were up before sunrise to escort this 398-tonne abnormal load from Trafford Park to Carrington for a @nationalgriduk project.

Thanks to everyone who showed patience while we helped get this load to its destination safely.
