We currently have a couple of beta builds out in the wild that are not compatible with the live version of the game. If someone in your room is on one of those beta versions while another player is on the live version, it can result in the "new update required" message you're seeing when trying to start a match. I'd like to take a closer look to make sure everyone is on compatible versions.

If you wouldn't mind sending us a DM or emailing [email protected] with your in-game username, we'd be happy to investigate and get you back into a round as quickly as possible.

We don’t have an exact timeline yet for when the underlying OS-level problem on Meta’s side will be resolved

In the meantime, one workaround you can try is using the Seamless Multitasking option in the system's experimental settings. That lets you run something like the system browser in the background to play music while you’re in-game.
