🧵4/4: During the event, the @rogerfedererfdn announced a $37 million pledge to GPE, helping mobilize additional resources to expand access to quality early and foundational learning for children across Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
This week, Chief Technical Officer Jo Bourne led a GPE delegation at the 2026 Africa Foundational Learning Exchange (FLEX) in Lilongwe, Malawi – Africa’s largest platform for country-to-country exchange on foundational learning.

🧵3/4: FLEX provided an opportunity for GPE to engage with governments and partners on foundational learning, early childhood education and sustainable financing.
The @rogerfedererfdn has pledged $37 million to GPE to support early and foundational learning in Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Of this, $2.5 million will be invested in early learning in Namibia together with the Education Outcomes Fund (EOF).
