We’re expanding the transmission network to meet growing energy demand, strengthen reliability and make it easier for renewable energy resources to connect to the grid.

Congratulations to @MercyHousing, on earning the Multi-Family Energy Savings Premier Partner Award! Through the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program, Mercy Housing upgraded more than 2,000 apartment units with energy-efficient appliances and equipment, helping income-eligible residents save on their utility bills.
We've restored service to 99% of the 290,000 customers affected by four storms over four days, and we will continue working until every remaining customer is restored.

Our restoration efforts continue and we’re working as quickly and safely as possible.
We’re at 96% restoration and expect all power to be restored by Sunday evening (7/5/26). A smaller number of customers may experience longer outages where additional repairs are needed, including replacement of damaged equipment or repairs to power lines. For those customers, restoration is expected by July 6, 2026.

Saturday evening, another round of storms affected an additional 41,000 customers, with 75% restored. Our crews remain focused on restoring service safely and as quickly as possible to all remaining customers affected from this week's storms, with restoration efforts concentrated in the hardest-hit areas; Crestwood, Glenbard, Joliet and Aurora.
More than 1,700 ComEd employees and contractors have been working around the clock since Thursday evening, responding to multiple rounds of severe weather that impacted more than 290,000 customers across our service territory.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews continue working through challenging conditions and high temperatures. As many of our customers celebrate America's 250th anniversary, we know others are still dealing with the impacts of this week's severe storms.
Our crews continue making progress restoring power after a triple punch of severe storms swept across northern Illinois Thursday night and Friday afternoon. Some of the hardest-hit areas include Tinley Park, Burbank, Homewood and several southern wards of Chicago, where crews continue working to assess damage and restore service.

Prolonged extreme heat across northern Illinois has also placed significant stress on our electric system, so we’re deploying every available resource to maintain reliable service, including using generators to help ease strain on the grid.
