🇺🇳 On October 1st, Greece assumes the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the second time during its 2025-2026 term as an elected member.

🤝 We are honoured to once again take on this institutional responsibility and look forward to steering the Council’s work throughout October, working closely with our fellow Council members and the wider UN membership in support of international peace and security.

🇫🇷 As we take over the Presidency from France, we warmly congratulate our colleagues at @franceonu on their successful stewardship of the Council in September.

Congratulations to Professor @Artinopoulou on her re-election to the UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (#SPT) for a further four-year term.

Receiving the highest number of votes in yesterday’s ballot, Professor Artinopoulou’s re-election is a strong recognition of the contribution she has already made to the work of the SPT and of her commitment to the prevention of torture and the protection of people deprived of their liberty.
