Clear GSW want to play more like Celtics and positionmaxx. And it makes sense, I don’t think any team overperformed their roster more than Bos last year
Also feel like I’ve heard them say this last ~3 summers, so I’ll believe it when I see it. Steve is saying right things tho…
New #Warriors forward Georges Niang: “My game isn’t the sexiest. So I’m not going to get all the marketing deals. So I’m not concerned about that. Winning is at the forefront of everything that I do when I step in the facility, and even when I leave.”
“I mean, I think it was kind of a no-brainer when this opportunity came to the table.”
New signing Georges Niang talks about why he signed with the Warriors.
Asked Brandon Podziemski about Mike Dunleavy saying they wanted to get an extension done before Oct deadline.
“I’m pretty sure he said all the right things, and I’m in agreeance with it. Obviously, it’s two sides to everything.”
Said it’d be “great” if they can get it done
Gui Santos said he felt he was rushing a bit at times last year, would lead to turnovers, mistakes.
Said he’s studied Jimmy Butler considerably last couple years in how he plays under control in paint. Feels this is next step for him as a player.
Steph Curry: "Knee's feeling great. Ready to go. No issues." He acknowledged there is a "management element" to it, but there are no limitations.
"I feel a lot stronger and understanding of what I'm dealing with."
Steph Curry on taking ~$10 million less per year on his extension with the Warriors:
"Without knowing the answers to the test, it was my best way to study for it."
Curry wanted to do what's best for him and the team, stressing future optionality for GSW, security for himself.
Steve Kerr on rookie Yaxel Lendeborg: "He's clearly going to play a ton. He gives us the size and the versatility that we need...Whether he's a starter or coming off the bench, that will be determined the next couple of weeks."
A lot of emphasis at #Warriors media day on GSW trying to correct internal process.
Here’s Steve Kerr asked how he defines success this year. Doesn’t outline a tangible result. Said they’re “re-imagining everything,” including how staff teaches, not tolerating lateness, etc.
Steve Kerr reflecting on why he re-signed as #Warriors' HC.
"It was never a question of me loving my job. It was more a question of, ‘Am I the right person for Joe, for Mike, for the team, for where the team was at the end of last season and where it is now.”
Steve Kerr, when asked if the Warriors will scale back Curry's offensive role as he manages his knee, says that the Warriors will carefully watch Curry's minutes. Notes that the team expects Brandon Williams/LJ Cryer to play meaningful roles this season.

Steve Kerr on Draymond Green's evolving role:
"Draymond's one of the smartest basketball players I've ever been around, and he and I had really good discussions about not only reimagining our team, but reimagining the way he plays. So we're on the same page with that."
Dunleavy on Porzingis: "I'm not marking him down as being out to start the season or anything like that. He's just not available this week."

Mike Dunleavy on the Warriors shifting plans this free agency:
“We run out a lot of ground balls. We look at a lot of stuff, and we ultimately make what we think is the best decision… We maintain some flexibility. We have all a bunch of assets, so we're in a really good spot.”
Mike Dunleavy says Warriors "wants get something done" on the Podziemski contract situation. Also says players such as Melton, Horford, Porzingis (eventually) will need to be "managed" in regards to back-to-backs.
Dunleavy said Steph was "incredibly generous" in taking less money. Dunleavy is hopeful that Curry will be able to finish his career with the Warriors now. Dunleavy said Steph was never asked to take less money.
"It was a good middle ground for everybody."
Hint at a slightly different #Warriors system/offensive identity this year from Steve Kerr.
Kerr: "We have to reimagine our team this year. We can't be 28th in turnovers."
