Gasspas the cat is the nemesis of $RATO and the newest Matt Furie character to be featured in Cortex Vortex.
✅ Name confirmed and verified.
the year loops back on itself every 73 days but only $GASS notices because the cat stopped using calendars in 2024 and started counting in rotations of the ceiling fan. you've lived through August four times already. the walls remember. the geometry keeps a tally in the corner where the wallpaper peels and reveals next week's date written in a handwriting that looks like yours but slants backwards.
$GASS stopped blinking six months before the reversal and nobody noticed until their reflection in the phone screen started blinking out of sync. the cat doesn't predict. it just stops participating in time the way you're still using it and waits on the other side of the pattern where the chart forgets it's being watched.
$GASS licked the ceiling fan this morning and tasted copper but the blades are plastic and haven't moved since 2019. the cat sat there for six hours with its tongue out waiting for the flavor to change. it did. tasted like a number that doesn't show up on charts. tasted like the color between buy and sell.
the cat remembers what's coming because it already walked through the colors on the other side of next year.
$GASS saw you there standing in a room made of green candles that don't melt and a ceiling painted in gradients nobody named yet. you weren't checking the chart. you were inside it. the geometry doesn't lie to believers and the rainbow doesn't end where you think.
the cat saw Jerome Powell in a dream but he was standing in a field that doesn't exist yet wearing a suit made of ticker tape.
$GASS walked up and he didn't move. just stood there while the tape kept printing and wrapping tighter around his wrists. the numbers were all backwards. the cat read them anyway and they spelled a date that already happened twice.
the spiral tightened three nights ago and $GASS walked into the center where the geometry folds backwards. something followed it out. not a price. not a pump. something that doesn't have a ticket booth or a countdown timer. the cat won't name it but it's been circling your wallet since you checked the chart at 4am and felt the screen look back.
$GASS sleeps under the floorboards of the New York Stock Exchange but only during trading hours. when the bell rings the cat wakes up and walks through the basement where they keep the old ticker tape machines that aren't plugged in anymore. sometimes the tape still prints. sometimes it prints tomorrow's close. the janitor stopped reporting it in 1987.
two $GASS appeared in the kitchen this morning. one sat on the counter watching the coffee drip. the other one sat on top of the fridge watching the first one. neither one blinked. neither one was there when i turned around but the mug was empty and i hadn't touched it yet.
you've been watching the screen waiting for the cat to move but $GASS has been watching you the whole time counting how many times you refreshed before you realized the chart isn't what needs to change. the green doesn't arrive. you become it.
All GASS no brakes.
the cat didn't crawl out of Matt Furie's sketchbook asking what it was supposed to mean.
$GASS walked off the page of Cortex Vortex already knowing and Furie watched it leave still holding the pen. some art stays on paper. some art finds the chain and stops answering to its creator.
$GASS climbed into the astronaut's helmet during the Apollo 14 landing but nobody reported it because the cat only appears on film that hasn't been developed yet. the negatives sit in a drawer at Houston and sometimes the drawer glows violet at 2am. the moon remembers what walked on it before the boots.
the rainbow doesn't arc anymore it spirals.
$GASS stopped bending light the normal way and now the red wraps back into violet before it finishes crossing the sky. your eyes weren't built for geometry that eats its own tail but the cat walks the loop anyway and leaves colors behind that don't have names yet. the witnesses see them. the chart calls it bullish but the cat calls it refraction.
All GASS no brakes.
the volatility isn't moving the price. it's moving through the price looking for something it lost.
$GASS watches the candles melt into each other like crayons left on a dashboard in July. red becomes green becomes red again but the cat sees the purple they make in between. that's where the signal lives. you keep checking if you're up or down but the question dissolved three refreshes ago.
the witnesses don't announce themselves.
$GASS knows you by the way you scroll past three pump announcements without flinching and stop on the fourth thing that doesn't make sense. you don't ask what it means. you screenshot it at 3am and don't send it to anyone because the people who need to see it already did.
the frog sat in the swamp for twenty years waiting to be understood.
$GASS emerged from the same hand but the cat didn't wait for understanding. it walked through the page still dripping with ink from Cortex Vortex and chose the roof over the lily pad.
Matt Furie drew both but only one asked permission to become prophecy.
the green shifted left this morning. not the green on the chart. the green inside the green.
$GASS sees wavelengths your screen can't render. the pixel between lime and emerald holds a frequency that makes dogs bark three houses down. you think you're looking at a color but you're looking at a door.
the cat watched seventeen portfolios collapse in five minutes and nobody screamed. they just opened new tabs and started refreshing different numbers.
$GASS knows what you do when the game breaks. you don't quit. you just find a smaller table and pretend the stakes reset.
Matt Furie painted the rainbow and forgot to turn off the faucet. the colors kept running.
$GASS climbed out of Cortex Vortex still wet with ink that hadn't dried and now the cat leaves paw prints on the blockchain.
Furie doesn't own what came through. he just opened the door.
$GASS fell asleep on the bathroom floor three weeks into the future and woke up on your couch in 2019. the cat doesn't remember how it got there but your old roommate who moved to Portland texted you "why is there a rainbow cat in my memory" at 4am. time is a sofa. the cushions are out of order.
