@gpaddymanning Very sorry for the loss of Peter, Paddy. He was an exceptional person - my first big ABC boss, became a mentor and helped me with advice at a few difficult moments. To the whole family, condolences for one of the great ones.
@Kate_McClymont Peter Manning was a visionary, a storyteller, a talent spotter and a lovely, generous person. He was my first big boss at the ABC and became a mentor and friend. Vale, Peter.
“I figured if I get on the air, and people see just how helpful it's gonna be, I'll be able to raise the money later on. And I was able to do just exactly that.” I talked to Ted Turner about the white-knuckle early days of CNN. This titan of industry and philanthropy will be greatly missed.
I’ll very much miss your calls @TimGavel .. as an avid @RaidersNRL fan, I’ve listened more than most and appreciated you bringing every game to life with colour and energy. Hope the Green Machine brings your chapter to a close with that elusive premiership.
Earlier this week I informed the ABC that this year would be my last as a commentator. I retired from ABC Sport as a f/t employee in 2018 and have called as a contractor since then. 36 seasons is enough. V grateful for the opportunity.
I’m tuned in for @heatherewart1’s #Backroads swan song. What an incredible broadcast legacy .. Heather badgered and begged the ABC to create a show that lived in her imagination that’s now told incredible stories of regional Australia for 10 years. Job done Heath, well played.
Peter’s last post, just a month ago. The journalism titan, family man and friend passed away on Friday. Vale to an outstanding person, who happens to also be a great and dedicated storyteller and an always curious traveller.
For those who missed the news. Fair to say I’ve been feeling the love from colleagues, friends, family and most of all the audience https://t.co/GmwHH1MG84
Very sad and shocked at the passing of the wonderful Judith Whelan .. a colleague and a friend through so many ABC adventures. So much life and light .. and amid absurdity and adversity, a wicked laugh to lift spirits. Always curious. My thoughts with Judith’s family. Vale.
Devastated for my friends and colleagues at #Newshub - you do incredible work and NZ’s democracy and society will be seriously poorer for your absence. Few teams have thought more about and fought harder for their #journalism future. https://t.co/8LPaYLk50S

That’s what we all needed, even as Australia lost - a moment for all time. Windies haven’t won a test match here since 1997 .. Australia always win at the Gabba. Up steps an injured #shamarjoseph
This time last year, Shamar Joseph had never played a professional game.
Yesterday, he retired hurt with an injured toe from a Mitchell Starc yorker.
Today, he took seven wickets to take West Indies to one of their most famous ever victories.
An incredible story.

How great is @kt_calderwood? @abcnews new East Asia correspondent excelling with much warranted 7.30 coverage from Japan on the #earthquake and on the news from Taiwan. Bravo legend!
Outstanding contribution @TimJAyliffe .. a genuine creator and innovator. There are new and amazing chapters to write (for you, literally) in the rich life outside.
After 17 years, I’m leaving ABC News. I’m grateful for having worked with so many wonderful people & I’m proud of the 1000s of hours of TV we’ve made. It’s time for fresh challenges… more novels to write, a TV series in the works, and most importantly - more time with my family
