Flying Scotsman departed today from the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, with one last run along the main line to Network Rail. What an incredible few days with grateful thanks to everyone who came to visit and made it happen.

@Staplefordtrain We don't have a date for this image (taken by Peter Skins) but it shows Scotsman passing Belgrave and Birstall box, presumably on the 1963 or 1964 railtour.
How long since Flying Scotsman was on the GCR in Nottinghamshire? It hauled a rail tour in 1963 (pictured) through Nottingham Victoria and again in 1964. Taken by Alan Bowler, when the loco was owned by Alan Pegler. Don't miss out on 31st May 2026 in case we have to wait again!
