@elianarose66@wjsteele Oh no! That can be a much bigger challenge depending on how much the corrosion seeped around the board. Fingers crossed it's not too bad.
Can you spot the ad integration? ๐
I'm fine with people skipping (i even add chapter markers for it). Time is valuable and if you don't want to sit through an ad read, it's no skin off my back.
@haydonryan Heh the best is when someone is paid to make a video about a product (a "showcase", pfft), then it's monetized with YouTube's ads, then they kick it off with an ad, then add in another ad on the tail end :D
Like quadruple-dipping!
@ahzurabai Yes! YouTube even re-surfaces old videos, and a couple times I've had an 'evergreen' video do way better 1-2 years after posting than it did the first few months.
I specifically decline direct affiliate revenue (this is a good chunk of change), as it could directly or indirectly make me want to promote certain brands/products over others.
I do participate in Amazon Affiliates since it's more general, but I decline any specific "creator connections" deals where specific brands give like 10% instead of 2.5-3% (because again, that could push me towards recommending specific products)
@iCjayX I have some bad news... been doing that for over two decades; and while every single donation is greatly appreciated (โค๏ธ), that alone plus AdSense still less than 1/4 what I made doing software consulting pre-YouTube.
@peymanr34 It will lower the percentage according to how fast the speed. With slower speeds I think it counts watch time as more than 100%
Probably helps on some Louis Rossmann videos haha.
@Avaviel Mint Mobile.
99% of my integrated ad reads are the same (almost always about 20-30% watch the whole thing).
The one exception was when the ad read was just touring a cool rack manufacturing facility and saying it's neat, haha (Lowell here in Missouri).
Never thought I'd watch a Canada game in Canada, yet here I am!
(Still rooting for Netherlands overall, but I can celebrate the local team too! ๐จ๐ฆ)
