@ChadNedohin@DanielMacl1n@DirtlumpIII@Emmanuel_Rach Chad, you're not making yourself look very good. You just had an opportunity to tune us all in on the subject that you claim to be an expert in. Are you really just going to defer to the opinions of others? Disappointing...
@DimitrisSoudas Yes exactly. All departments of government and decisions that we would like to handle ourselves. Are you trying to sell us on independence? Donโt threaten me with a good time
@jkenney Iโve got an idea: We receive the federal lands and infrastructure that we have been allegedly supporting with our federal tax dollars. In exchange, we will take on our share of the federal dept.
@satofishi Our progression to a Kardashev 1.0 species will be marked by the ubiquitous use of AU as a distance unit and the relative understanding in our minds of how long it takes to travel that far using the modern propulsion systems.
@mileslunn@jengerson Great idea! Make it so the only way a chronically and permanently under represented region can seek self determination is through violence and warfare! Thatโs brilliant and so well thought out!
@CanadianForces Scratch that plan. If youโre going to regress to prop driven aircraft then do it in style. Acquire or build some old spitfires or hurricanes.
@Martyupnorth This just seems like a stall tactic on the part of the Canadian government. By drawing out the certainty that a referendum will be held on October 19th, it limits the ability and shortens the time for a coordinated effort to sway opinion towards a yes to independence.
@nandouglas I donโt see a path within confederation that leads to fixing the grievances of western alienation. Independence see seems to be the only way at this point. What path forward do you see where the constitution is opened and revised to fix this?
@YakkStack Having a pipeline is so far behind the main issue. I can list so many more grievances that are far more important. But if I had to pick one, it would be the lack of adequate representation. I donโt see a way to gain that in this current system.
This is another reason Alberta needs to leave:
โCanada's Impact Assessment Act came into force in 2019 with a significantly broader mandate
than its predecessor legislation - requiring projects to demonstrate not just environmental responsibility,
but positive outcomes across health, social, and economic dimensions, and for Indigenous peoples' rights.โ
We are supposed to be a resource powerhouse but purposefully impose this kind of bureaucratic nonsense on any company trying to start a project and it only keeps getting worse.
@guyfelicella Land acknowledgments are a slap in the face to the indigenous. It is a reminder that they have been conquered and that we do not intend on giving the land back. It is just being wrapped up in virtue signalling language.
