25/26 wrapped.
What a coaching season. 10+ boys signing to professional academies at U9, a huge success.
Enormous amounts of personal development, a real stability to my personal ideology creating a real consistency and aiding faster development.
A big summer before 26/27.
Would like to see us take some gambles in other markets ahead of a championship season too.
Czech League, Belgian League, Scandinavian markets, lower French league.
All translatable and cheap.
Academy future.
Fin Herrick/Mason Terry one stays as No. 2 one goes on loan.
Golambeckis, backup CB/RB, Mayers same but CB/LB
Kante/Potts/Fearon/Orford all depth, probably need another senior signing to provide depth though.
Ajala the only forward I’d have around as backup.
@RyanSoccerAA “Contract until 2026 with an option to extend” it isn’t mandatory, therefore they’re technically out of contract unless the option is exercised.
Yamal creates so many 1v1 opportunities due to providing defenders with a false security.
RCB picks it up, Yamal shows w/ back to goal, hips open up late.
Then it’s back foot touch on his right and transitions to the instep to dribble on his left in one fluid movement.
@gillikas I think it’s all on putting yourself in positions to.
For me personally I coach the foundation phase U6-U11 and I love it. Get so much joy out of working with that age group, and have had many ‘lucky breaks’ because I’m persistent and constantly around it.
There’s a real glorification of foreign youth systems in England currently, a lot of which is stemming from the current La Liga futures tournament and the publicity it’s gained.
I don’t think enough people understand academy football in this country to comment on it personally.
